The Newbie Guide |
|
If you're new to the Raiders, then there's a lot you aren't familiar with. What's a Neo-Mobian? What's a Raiders Watch? Who the heck are the Elementals?
Well, this section was put together to answer all those questions and more. Reading through this section is more or less required since it covers all the basic information Raiders are expected to know when playing. If you find something interesting and would like to read more about the subject, please find the appropriate section of the site - or ask one of the administrators to point you in the right direction. |

The Story |
|
The island of Tolaria has existed for thousands of years, hidden above the clouds of Mobius. The exact origin of this land is known to a few, but all familiar with it recognize it to be a place of magic, naturally drawing other magical beings to it - whether for good or ill.
The Raiders are a group of unique individuals with skills and abilities that help defend the island from a myriad of threats. And there are many - demonic beasts, single-minded robots, even aliens (or so it is believed). People join the Raiders for a variety of reasons, but all are dedicated to protecting this strange land from any and all threats. |

Calls to Action |
Scheduled guild plays are known as Calls to Action, more commonly referred to as CtAs. CtAs are usually set on Fridays, and an e-mail is sent to the Raiders in advance to let them know if one is scheduled. In addition to the e-mail, the forum will be updated with a status report if a play is scheduled. If a Raider gets no notification and there is no notice on the board, then there will be no CtA, but chances are a Random or Semi-Random rp will be held (the difference being a Semi-Random is an unscheduled rp where important things happen). Any Raider can host a Random or Semi-Random rp. Expect an rp of some kind to be set up about every Friday. |

Memorable Heroes |
Listed here are those Raiders who have fallen in battle. Their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
Blaze The original commander of the Raiders, given the position by Hardrive. Best friend to Hardrive and Rush, dedicated Raider, ferocious fighter. Gave his life fighting the Elemental Thanatos in the Fourth Elemental War.
Biff Shivanski A well-known and beloved friend to all Raiders. He was particularly close to Tomoshibi Hedgehog and Jenet DarkLowe. Unmatched in both physical and inner strength. Gave his life to allow the Raiders to escape Ixildor's destroyed castle. |
|
Memorable Villains |
Listed here are the most well-known Raiders villains, alive and dead. For some, their legacy lasts long past their death... Hannibal Hannibal has been a thorn in the Raiders' side for years. He seemed to be behind every plot against the group, but even he could not escape his death at the hands of Hardrive in December of XX04
Kilamo Kilamo is a dark entity that for untold years possessed Mizz. She's a child of destruction, and her Hectapol's Scream is one of the most feared techniques the Raiders have ever known. As of October XX06, she has been separated from Mizz, making her an easier enemy to fight.
Nakamaro A demon from the Aegise Islands, his past is entwined with that of Goth's. He has become one of the deadliest enemies of the Raiders. Don't let his clownish behavior fool you - he's not to be taken lightly.
Karasu A creature believed to have been created by a space-faring group of humans, millions of years ago. He survived in stasis until unknown factors woke him up, and from there he went on a murderous killing spree in his quest to eradicate all life on Mobius. Disabled as of November XX06 |

Memorable People |
Here's a few other people you should be familiar with. Some are Raiders, some are civilians, but they all have an impact of some kind or another on our world. Mary Aegis Primary benefactor of the Raiders Renaissance. She initially privately funded the Raiders before they gained status as a public service. She remains a primary financial backer of the organization.
Governor Kazanachou Governor-elect of Metropolis. She has a history with the Raiders, most notably with Hardrive, though her past remains questionable. She does not bare the Raiders any ill will but she doesn't necesarily like them either.
General Kreig Commander in Chief of the Tolarian Defense Force, a military organization dedicated to upholding peace in the Metropolis. |

Mobian vs. Neo-Mobian |
The Raiders started out as a fan-guild for Sonic the Hedgehog, and while our involvement with the blur blur has declined over the years, his presence in our world hasn't. Even though he and the rest of the Sonicverse exist separate from Tolaria, we still acknowledge the rules used by them.
For this reason, we acknowledge two 'breeds' of Anthros (called Mobians) - normal Mobians and Neo-Mobians (literally New-Mobians). Mobians are as tall as those in the Sonicverse - namely, small animals (hedgehogs, echidnas, foxes) top out at 4'0", mid-sized animals (cats, wolves) rarely make it to 5'0", and only the biggest animals (bears) make it to 6'0". Neo-Mobians, on the other hand, use the human standard of height - all Neo-Mobians range from 5'6" to 6'5", with few exceptions.
Notable Mobians include Hardrive and Mizz. Notable Neo-Mobians include Vector and Goth. |

Species Notes |
| An oddity about Mobius involves the fact that while it is
populated primarily by anthropomorphic animals, it is also home
to normal animals and unique breeds as well. Most small birds are present on Mobius, though the majority of species are of the Flicky variety. Horses exist primarily in animal form. Most insects are not anthropomorphic, though there are several kinds that are. There are also several Mobian species that are considered mythological. The most common of these creatures are Kitsunes. They are separated from their Mobian fox counterparts by their general body shape - reversed joints along their lower legs, primarily - as well as their multiple tails. |
|
Chaos Emeralds |
It's natural for any Sonic guild to have some rules governing the use of Chaos Emeralds. These jewels have had an enormous impact on the Sonicverse, after all. We at the Raiders operate under somewhat different rules concerning these manifestations of raw power.
First off, we recognize the Chaos Emeralds as divided into the Master and seven Servers. These are housed on Angel Island and, for the most part, never see use within normal Raiders storylines. Smaller Chaos Emeralds, however, can be found scattered around Renaissance Mobius. These stones are less powerful than their cousins but much more common. For all intents and purposes, these are the Chaos Emeralds we deal with whenever the Emeralds are mentioned.
These Chaos Emeralds come in two types: shards and actual emeralds. The shards act as conductors and can allow characters to transform into higher forms. The actual emeralds do the same thing, but on a much greater level, providing a significant power boost as well as Chaos Control abilities. |

The Elementals |
A long, long time ago, five spirits came from the heavens, made up of the very essences of life: earth, fire, water, air, and darkness. They are known all over, but to the ones that live on their Isle, they're known as the Elementals. They created Tolaria, sometimes called Element Isle, and kept it in the air, above the chaos of the other world.
They gathered a variety of species to live on their Isle. The Isle prospered and thrived, and it was the Golden Age of Tolaria. Mount Infinity was used as a tribute to the Elementals, where scholars, mages, and educators studied and lived there.
Though, the Elementals grew restless, causing them to fight. There has been four wars with the Elementals, the fourth being their last. The Isle was inverted by Blaze and Hardrive creating the Power and becoming Urza, blasting them back into their Emeralds. Since the Isle was inverted and new elements came about, the Elementals were destroyed... or so it is believed. |

Raiders Watches |
The Raiders Watch is an important part of Raiders technology. They come in multiple styles, though shown above is the basic layout. The watches have various functions:
1.) They tell time (duh).
2.) They act as a communication device, connected to the other Raider watches as well as the Raiders security center and the Raiders' airships.
3.) They can locate other Raiders through activated watches.
4.) Most importantly, they have a switch that activates a pocket dimension. This dimension extends a mile in all directions from its initial starting point, encasing the area in a faint haze (the color of the haze varies - they're somewhat personalized). From the moment the field is activated, any damage that occurs in the area will be undone once the field goes down - provided that the user wins the battle.
5.) Some are equipped with an anti-dampener device used to negate the effects of the magic dampener field on the HQ. These watches are reserved for individuals who require them - such as Mizz and Loki, beings held together by magic. |
