Destruction of the Guardian Stones |
| Near the end of 2502 TR, during the time of the Raiders, a great
disturbance echoed throughout the various realities. This disturbance
disrupted the natural energies within the Guardian Stones. This
interference, combined with a series of illusions cast by the Council,
forced the current Guardian to rejoin the stones to their appropriate
emeralds. This resulted in the unleashing of the Elementals for a month
in which they unleashed what looked to be the start of the Third
Elemental War. The battle reached a climax at the end of 2502. Among the casualties was Blaze Hedgehog, the former commander of the Raiders. In a duel with Thanatos, the warrior was struck down with a fatal wound. The Guardian joined him at his deathbed and together they fused their energies, as well as their bodies, to create the ultimate Guardian. Using this power, they struck down the Elementals, banishing them to their emeralds. An unforeseen side effect of such a union was the inversion of Tolaria. The amount of energies released were enough to force the Twilight Crystal, then hidden, into altering the entire landscape of Tolaria. The island became virtually uninhabitable. Following a long period of plagues, famine and war that racked Mobius, the island was restored in 2504 to its former glory. The Guardian Stones will never again be forged. Their fusion with the Elemental Emeralds is now complete. |
