I was born on October 2, 1978 to Michael and Joy Carter. I lived in Maryland, around the D.C. area until 1984. Then we moved to Charlestown, West Virginia, and then we moved to Berkeley Springs, West Virginia in 1987. My parents are and always have been devout Christians who try to live for Jesus every day. I was one of the "good" kids my whole life up until about my 10th grade year. I let the emotional and verbal abuse from the kids at school get the best of me. I started with smoking cigarettes and then marijuana. Then came alcohol and sex. The other drugs I used included opium, PCP, and LSD. I still acknowledged that God existed and believed that Jesus died for me, but I was more interested in feeling good and the acceptance of other people. I joined a band called Lesion in the beginning of my 12th grade year. I was the lead singer. All my lyrics were filled with hate and rage and depression. We were pretty good and people liked us. I enjoyed the party life. I always had good grades through school until i started drugs. My grades then took a dramatic plunge. It was basically from not caring and not doing the work. The picture on the left is of my youngest brother Mark and I. Notice the Cypress Hill shirt I'm wearing. This was taken in my 12th grade year, I believe. The other picture is at my high school graduation. I still graduated in the top 15 of my class. The picture was taken in June of 1996. Not until after my car wreck did I turn back to the Lord and realize He is the only one who could give me fulfillment. Jesus has given me so much since I came back to Him. The greatest gift He has given me besides mercy and grace is my beautiful wife Jamie. We were married 10 months after my wreck on July 11, 1998.
