Okay, so what are all the "Secrets"?

First off, there is one thing you must have in order to be successful at Kauvara's Potion Game... Patience.

Rushing through the game will only get you to the end quicker, a fiery end.

Secondly, you need to have a Spreadsheet program of some kind. Excel or MicrosoftWorks, typically.

You will be using this spreadsheet throughout the game.
I suggest the following setup for your spreadsheet...

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3
Color - State Action/Ingredient Result (even if no change)

As you have probably been told before, YOU MUST KEEP TRACK OF EVERYTHING!!!.

And that is no joke.

Alright Narachu, then what-Patience patience patience.

There is one overwhelming key to the entire game. You MUST get all the clues.

But Narachu, there is like 4 bazillion of em.

No, you will only need between 100 and 200 clues to finish the game.
This is why you need a spreadsheet.

But Narachu, how will I know what the final potion is, I mean, what is the goal.

Patience, Kauvara will tell you, eventually, if you get far enough along in the game.

So how do I know when I have all the clues, how do I get all the clues?

Here is the key to getting the clues...

When you begin the game, after you record the initial potion state, simply choose an action or an ingredient and click on it. If you are lucky, the potion will not change. This is a good thing.

But Narachu, how is THAT a good thing?

This is the key to getting the clues. You just keep clicking (slowly-patience, remember?) on that action/ingredient that does nothing until Kauvara gives you a clue. Record it faithfully-as always.

Assuming the potion either changes color or state, or both, record the event, and continue looking for an action or ingredient that does nothing. Then start gathering the clues-don't forget to record them, and do so accurately. Kauvara will not repeat a clue again.

Okay, but how do I know when I have all the clues.

This one is easy, from what I have seen, Kauvara gives AT LEAST 24 clues per level of the game. Sometimes 26 or 28, but ALWAYS 24. When you have reached around that number from that level, and continual (not rapid) clicking of the action or ingredient that does nothing produces no more clues for that level.

Typically, on the first level, most of your clues will be for later levels.

On those later levels, you will generally get clues for the previous levels-yay Kauvara-thanks.

Okay Narachu, I have all the first level clues, now what?

Now you must find your way to the second level, this can sometimes prove difficult.

But how do I know when I get to the second level?

Easy, when you reach a fourth color. There are three colors per level, but sometimes there are four colors on the final level only. I have only just seen this recently. Once you reach a fourth color, or a seventh, etc etc.. Repeat the gathering of clues as before. You MUST do this. You can quit now and get some NP, but you will miss out on the big prize if you do.
