| This photo was taken along the Indian Ocean Coast of South Africa. Between the Uiteniqua Mountain Range and the Indian Ocean is a narrow strip of heavily forested land. This forest has been named the Knysna forest after the famous resort town on the coast. It was heavily logged and the unique Knysna Elephants hunted until but a single lone female survives today. The forest is mostly gone now, and only small parts remain. The oldest and tallest tree in Africa is in this forest as well, and I will post a pic of it eventually. This photo is of a small creek within the forest that is overgrown with ferns. The tall woody fern in the middle of the photo was over 8 ft in height. |
