Arasamaj & Gurunath Free Dispensaries

Background

They are two local NGOs based in Yangon which aim to provide medical care and medicines for the community and free service for those who cannot afford.

Setup

Both dispensaries have a consultation room and a dispensary. The volunteer doctors attend to patients from 8 am to 12 pm in the morning. They are private institutions and obtain their funds entirely from well-wishers and public donations.

Field Report

We were given a brief introduction of the dispensaries’ founding by Mr. Ram Dass and Dr. Melvin Gulati.

We donated S$400 and drugs to each dispensary.
