Thanlyin Parahita Orphanage
Background
Located
in Thanlyin Township on the highway to Kyauktan, the orphanage is run by a
Sayadaw. It is a private institution and house 800 children of ages 3 – 18.
The children come from the surrounding townships to as far as Shan State.
Field
Report
We taught the children songs and conducted health education on wound management, hygiene and dental hygiene. We donated S$400 in cash and sports equipment to the orphanage as well as exercise books and pencils which we distributed personally to the children. The children were absolutely thrilled by our presence and the Project Team members thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
