Yangon, known as "the end of strife", was founded by King Alaungpaya in 1755 when he conquered the whole of Myanmar, founding the last Burmese dynasty - the Konbaung dynasty.

Here, Burmese flags adorned the shops and roads, as if to remind its people of its once glorious past.

The latest spat between Myanmar and Thailand was nothing new in both countries' bloody history. The military junta has ordered a nationwide protest against the "Yodaya"'s devious scheme to undermine its sovereignty.
