THE MIDDLE EAST
I have visited a number of Middle eastern countries, but without doubt
North Yemen is the most spectacular, with many areas still much as they have been for thousands of years. Mountains rise from tropical vallies to
some ten thousand feet where there is a frost every night!
The terraced hillsides that were used to grow coffee are now used
to grow Ghat, a slight narcotic leaf that is chewed by most Yemini men.

I was arrested for taking this photo as the old fort in the foreground
is classed as a military establishment!
