THE FAR EAST
I was lucky enough to spend some time in Thailand, China
and Hong Kong, and to get some unique material.
The one thing I was not able to do was any aerial photography
over Hong Kong. I managed to arrange a flight, but having spent some £30
getting to the British Army operated air strip, was told the there were
no planes available as several were unserviceable!
China is of course a vast country, and I only visited the area around
Guangzhou (Canton) but was able to get some interesting photos
of life and scenes of the country which is changing rapidly.

The fantastic night time view of Hong Kong from Kowloon water front with the
impressive Bank of China building in the centre.

The famous 'Star Ferry' that plies the harbour from
Kowloon to Hong Kong island.

A small barge on the Pearl River in South China.

The writings on the wall - reading the news China style.

Up until recently all bicycles in Chine had to be registered!

A girl construction worker in the southern city of Guangzhou

A massive Buddha in Thailand.

A Thai Elephant carrying a log.

A man wrestling a crocodile at the Crocodile farm in Bangkok
