I can honestly say that there are more Cajun musicians from Mamou then any where else in South Louisiana.
That might be the reason that there are so many songs with the name Mamou on it. There is "Grand Mamou Blues", "Grand Mamou", "Mamou Two Step", and Valse de Mamou, there are at least two version of each of these songs.
