THE SOILEAU HISTORY

Noel Soileau was the first Soileau of our Family to come to the USA. He came from Champagne, France aboard the ship called "Count De Toulouse" . There were 150 people aboard. It landed November 15, 1718. A concession was given to wealthy people and they were able to bring members of their family. Mr. M. Pellerin (Brother of Elizabeth) was able to bring 9 of his people over to the USA. There were 3 sons, 2 nephews (who were Pierre Guezo & Noel Soileau) and 4 Servants.In the year 1719 the Pellerin concessions settled near the village of Natchez, on the banks of the little river, St. Catherine.

Today more than half of the Soileau households of Louisiana are found in St. Landry and Evangeline Parish. With the largest concentration in and around Ville Platte. This area was first settled by Soileau families during the last quarter of the eighteenth century. Soileau families have remain here generation after generation. My Husband's Great Grandfather was baptized in Ville Platte at Sacred Heart Church on August 21,1854. The first year of Sacred Heart Church in Ville Platte, La.
His name was Rosemond Soileau(born June 30, 1854)
Son of Lucien Etienne Soileau (born December 3,1817) and Mary Ann Matilde Smith.

NOTE: I have names of the children of Rosemond Soileau, Jr.
But I thought I would end it here, my husband's line finish with the first marriage & this is the second marriage
