All ye All,
Welcome to a brand new day and a brand new week. I believe we can fly from this week on. Thanks to all the folks who were at yesterday's general meeting (Carly Ahiable, Dzoti-Acquah Wisdom, Sam Eworyi, Doe-Lawson Abgezuge, Grace Wotuh, Comfort our non-sosa sympathiser, Adeti Steven, Evershed Amuzu and me. Seli Susu and Agbengu joined via phone).
This is an attempt to recap the happenings at the meeting.
It was generally agreed (after I had 'condemned' the general membership and the committees in particular for non-performance) that we need to act more quickly.
At the meeting:
1. We resolved to move the anniversary process forward quickly and much more forcefully and consciously.
2. Launch a strong media component to support the general drive to solicit support for the up-coming event; radio, tv, bannners, and possibly an anniversary booklet. The return of Carly Cee injected some hopes and more focused planning into the publicity committee's plans.
I hope he sustains the effort (please contact Patrick Ocloo for contacts with the media houses especially Citi FM)
3. The financial committee is still in a slumber and Dzoti and Adeti Steven will pump it up by making the necessary contacts with organisations and the SOSA leadership thru (Mr. Danny Johnson, the national organiser)
4. The protocol committee would have to make some more contacts with sogasco/sogakope to sort out some logistic issues
5. There is the need for at least one more trip to sogasco to meet the administrators and staff for another in-depth updates/discussion on the November event
6. We need to come up with lists of people to invite to the event especially the Saturday. (The letters going round now are only for support)
7. For the Sunday 20th November thanksgiving service, we may invite any of the following to preach; Rev. Toppar, Pastor Enoch Ashiagbor, and Rev. Mrs. Comfort Afele. Please let us know the whereabouts of Rev.
Toppar and his availability by close of business Friday. There are obviously hundreds of very good preachers all over the country, but these were agreed on.
8. We need to step up the payments of our anniversary levies as well as our monthly dues.
9. Make a list of the names/addresses of the people or groups we send requests of appeal to for purposes of follow up and also for acknowledgement of receipt/ expression of gratitude. The chairman of the association must be informed about/ and if possible receive donations to the association
10. We have more contacts to make so if anybody needs copies of the letters, please contact the chairman
11. Next meeting is 2nd October 2005, 2.30pm at GBC club house. There will be 2 postings in the daily graphic in the week of the meeting. Watchout!!!
