Psychology and Emotion
The main ingredients of  human emotion:

1. Physiological arousal
           2. Expressive Behaviors
           3. Conscious Experience

In order to fully understand the fundamental experience of the above three working together,  you will  need to  first understand the particulars of the individual parts.      Physiological arousal refers to the stirring up of the functional processes within ourselves as a whole and wihin our individual body systems.  As an example, think about a time you were  riding a roller coaster.  Your journey began  one click at a time as you slowly rose up to the top of that first big hill.  Your body became physiologically aroused by the sympathetic branch of the autonomic nervous system.  Were you tense or shakey? Expressive behaviors refers to your outward reaction to the sensations of physiological arousal.  When you become tense or shaky how does your hands, arms, and chest feel?  Your conscious experience is how you talk to yourself.
Generally you will either have a positive or negative conscious experience depending upon how you decide to see the situation. On that rollar coaster for the first time as a young child, you probably thought to yourself very differently as compared to 100th time riding.
