It was described as a "DOG Day Afternoon" and it sure looked like the pack was on the attack. After last week's disappointment of being "Yahoo'd", the DOGS came back growling and snarling for CATS. The poor CATS who are used to getting off to a fast start were pounced on in the opening round. McMe2/Pom_Two bid and made 6 N/T on the first hand for the DOGS. Moments later Rueful_Rabbit/Orla bid and made 6 Clubs for the DOGS. Still in the first round the DOGS struck again. This time Opensesamenow/RedRover bid and made 6 Spades for the DOGS. Hardly a meow was heard before the DOGS barked the results in the lounge. One win after another for the DOGS. When the dust cleared, the DOGS were ahead 8 to 2. Things picked up slightly in round 2 for the CATS as Jin/Harlequin_smiles bid and made 6 Clubs. This was off-set almost immediately by the DOGS when AlanMitchell/CanadaGirl bid and made 6 N/T. The CATS in a valiant effort to defend their title drew within 4 points in the final round with 2 tables still out. If they could win at those two, the match would be tied. All hopes were dashed when Kenny_HA2/Amalekite reported a huge comeback for a win for the DOGS.

Undefeated for the day - Pollyvw/Saintthataint had a purrrfect day for the CATS while Kenny_HA2/Amalekite and CanadaGirl/AlanMitchell (subDtraum) howled for the DOGS.
