WHILE THE RATS ARE AWAY, THE CATS WILL PLAY
And Play They Did to an Amazing 42-22 over the Dogs

The dogs were left in a rather bad position this week ............

By Lorrrobb
Oh my, what a treat for my first crack at hosting the Ryder. What happened to those mean old cat-hating dogs. They turned into a bunch of stuffed puppies and those kitties and cats just played and toyed with them all afternoon, teehee.

And I must confess it wasn’t hard to be impartial at all, I was too busy going below to try to make sure the scores were right, and hoping I didn’t put cats against cats and dogs against dogs. Whew, thank gosh that one’s over with. I must confess I missed one score, so I awarded it to the dogs, after all, they were so far behind anyway, and it wasn’t going to help them or hurt the cats, lololol.

After the first round it was cats 11 and dogs 5. I caught a bit of snarling and yelping, but was too busy to try to placate our pups. There were no slams in the first round, and the pups bravely went back to the tables to try to better themselves in the second round.

Well, those pu! ps fought hard and did get 7 games the second round, but the cats got 9 so now the score was 20 for the cats and 12 for the dogs. One dog team even got 2 slams in that second round, however, I’ll save the slammers for the end. So now the kitties are still playing and toying with these poor stuffed puppies, so on to the third round.

Well I tell you all, there were snarls and growls, even though they were subdued, and by gosh, those cats came through again, a clean sweep for our felines, and the canines were left to slink off with their tails between their legs. In the third round it was again 11 wins for the cats and 5 for the dogs, bringing the final total to an astounding 42 cats and 22 for the dogs.

Needless to say it was a purrrrrrrrfect day for our cats, but less than pawfect for our poor pups who could only lick their paws and announce that they’d get those nasty cats next week.

Our dog teams were dranna/woo7NT, Jean1998_1999/arzcx! y1, Lorainew/puppyfinn, wpbied/jawall47, cat_8er/grrrrrdog, nili/cherryirvets, springer/jickythejinx, meanoledog/butter or betterduck (not sure which name is right), Geof/Snoefte, gmtown/cabcke, JamesGreyWolf/Nancystlouis, I8catsfordiner/hollygolightly, Felden1/Keychild, Irish/Kgibsonlab, Zebbon/Deltagayl and Dastarly/Seaweed.

Our cat teams were Scorpiokirsten/Suzy, incognito_UK_2000/sugarmt, ppp_P3/Star_392000, gaunicz/rae_jean00, kamel/bulabi, megin315/GLOSSIT, alanmitchell/lynh_UK, Orla_11/Lichfield, Smilodonkiwi/aimejoue, Silverwindcaca/leaffen, ernietomcat/bertkitty, Kittny/acastofmany, harlequin/overtroubledwaters, Producer/wombiepie, Debb_26/crabby and Bridge_rebel/Dpman.

It was nice to have debb_26 back, and a welcome to gmtown for coming for the first time. I think Bridge_rebel is another new one, and perhaps gaunicz, at least you are new to me, as well as kamel/bulabi and keychild. Any new ones I forgot - please forgive me, as I’m hit and miss at ! attending in the summer, lol.

Many thanks to our beloved OldYank for his assistance and also for subbing in the last round. Our other super subs besides Yank were ruefulrabbit, cave_draco, Kenny was there for a bit, but didn’t stay for the whole time and rainlan also subbed for us. Francylou showed up near the end and was almost snagged to sub, but yahoo graciously returned the player, so Francy just sat back and relaxed. And of course on the balcony was Macmarine overseeing all, (sees all, knows all, lol).

Slam Awards go to:

I8catfordinner/hollygolightly – 6H and 6S, Dranna/Woo7NT – 6C, kamel/bulabi – 7NT, alanmitchell/lynh – 6S, Silverwind/leaffen – 6C, Producer/wombiepie – 6NT and finally Bridge_rebel/Dpman – 6NT.

And Lastly – Our ThreePeats for the Day, pets who won all 3 of their games –

Lorainew/puppyfinn, kamel/bulabi/sub, Kittny/acastofmany and lastly Producer/wombiepie.

I wanted to send pics and make this a nicer page for you all to read, but alas, I still haven’t mastered my website yet, so poor Dave will have to do what he can with what I send. Many thanks for having me as your hostess for the day, I sure enjoyed but was a collapsed catastrophe after it was over .

See you at the Ryder, don’t forget to check the Ryder Club for news and forgive any spelling errors I have made with your names.

Lori
