Dogs Make it 2 in a Row

JC meets with RS in a strategy session

The Dogs proudly prowled the alley again this week. For the second straight week, the Dogs determined to squash rumors of declining superiority, pounced on every cat slippage to hang another banner. Although the final score was close, the Dogs would have none of the Cats “comeback” chant. The first round ended with the Dogs leading 8-5. After the reports were all in, some of the spectators came down from the fire escape wanting to join in the battle. We picked up 2 additional tables for rounds 2 & 3 making the enjoyment all that higher and the volume all that louder. When the last trick was taken, the Dogs had come away with the bone. Final score was Dogs 31 – Cats 27. The Cats were heard to murmur those now infamous words “Just wait till next week”.

Sorry the report is short this week, but I wanted to be sure I got something posted before I leave for Michigan. I will be gone for the whole week on company business but I hope to be back in time for the Ryder. With Iain’s PC problems, we may find ourselves without an “Officer Dibble” (a name given to the director by Rueful Rabbit) to patrol the alley. The same problem exists for the following weekend as I have to work that Saturday. We are getting to the point where we have some excellent directors, but it is times like this that make you realize how important it is to have as much help as possible. It is hard to believe but in the 2 ½ years of Ryder we have only missed 2 weeks and both of those were due to Yahoo problems. If you have ever wanted to try your hand at being an alley officer, please let me know so I can get you started.
