Kick Starting Didn't Help

As Dogs Sneak Past Director's Watchful Eye

by: IMDJ1

After literally "kick" starting my trusty pc, I finally made it to the club chat room. The topic for debate this week was meant to be whether or not to change the time for the Ryder. No-one seemed inclined to change this so a free for all chat was held instead. I recommend all join the club so that the social side of our community can be expanded further.

The Ryder itself was the usual mix of howls and hisses. Poor Dee was so confused that she wasn’t even sure of which ID to use. Wayne went undercover with the dogs, or has that Pesky Old Bum actually converted him? Anyway despite various minor concerns about who was playing with whom and people being late, I won’t tell, mom, if you don’t, the battle lines were drawn up and round 1 commenced. The cats stole an early lead and seemed to be about to steal the round when dog after dog win was reported leaving round 1 as 9-6 to the dogs.

This theme continued through round 2. The dogs slowly extended their lead to 19-11, I say slowly as whilst waiting for the results I not only had time to roll and smoke a cigarette, but also to hold a debate on the dubious merits thereof!

Round 3 promised to be close and indeed it was. The cats fought back bravely and the scores were creeping closer together when to my astonishment I read that I was M.I.A.. How could this be? I was happily reading and acknowledging results but no-one could see what I typed but me. How bizarre!! I resorted to giving the computer another introduction to my right foot! After a couple of recounts on my part, I’d run out of fingers and toes by this point, the scores were level at 27 all. At this point it would seem that my pc had conspired with Yahoo and plotted revenge as Yahoo booted me so that I’d miss the exciting climax to the festivities. After much wailing and gnashing of teeth I made it back to the alley but the dust had cleared along with most of the combatants and to my dismay I was informed that the dogs had stolen the last 2 tables giving them victory at 33-27.

Next week Kenny and Dee are back. The following week will be Iain. We have 2 new possibilities for directors and are working hard to get them on board. We could sure use more help. Please drop a line to [email protected] if you would be willing to help.
