Cats Hold Meeting For Rebuilding

After the second straight humiliation in their beloved alley, the cats called a special meeting to discuss strategies for rebuilding. The secret conference held behind locked doors was reported to be attended by most of the high ranking felines. Focus of the discussion, although not confirmed, was to appoint a new and powerful leader now that the defection of the once loved Cathugo has run off with Kenny_ha2. The only hope for the cats now is to reorganize behind a new leadership. Who they decided on is unknown, although we do know there was considerable heated discussion. Soon we will find out. We are on tenterhooks waiting to see who emerges as the new hero. With so many top cats, it would be hard to pick a new champion. The task will become even harder when you consider the return of the many cats on vacation or out fighting other battles.

I predict that in the near future, we will see another rise to power for the cats. As I look out the window each week, I see the dogs yapping and barking and carrying on having a good old time. Complacency has become the rule among the young and scrappy pups. They run about the alley with abandon, taking no heed to the dangers we know lurk within the shadows on the cats side. The youngsters have never seen the danger and the older dogs are too busy gloating, or their memories are failing. No one, it seems is giving the warnings and maintaining their cool anymore. The big dog no longer barks out the sharp commands he used to as he is obviously pre-occupied with his new project Dogcat_baby. Sure, this new species could prove special. After all, she has the strength of a dog and the cunning mind of a cat. The thought is frightening. Word has it though that the cats are working on a cross species of their own to combat the Dogcat_baby. The alley will surely shudder the day that happens. I could be wrong, but my instincts tell me the cats are just laying back, setting up the unsuspecting dogs. Soon, the trap will spring and Kitty City will be back in business. Final score today was Dogs 32, Cats 13. One highlight was a tie in the second round between Dogs Softfire/Timothy_the_Toucan and Cats Deltagayl/Ralphmo.

Please take a minute with me and offer a prayer for a very dear friend. Robinbird, who most of us know and love, is in the hospital with very serious heart problems. She is one of the driving forces behind our Social Community, and has given so much of herself to bring us together as friends. As we enjoy what she has fought so hard for, let's fight for her with our prayers for a speedy recovery.

Help Wanted - I need help keeping an eye on the alley the last two weeks of June and the first two weeks of July. I have written a program in Excel which helps keep the games going and will send it to anyone who wants it. I also have a very short Word document outlining all you need to know. If we can find one, two, three or more people willing to try it, the alley can be covered. If not, we will have to shut down on those Saturdays. BTW - I don't do it, but if you get comfortable enough, you could play and organize at the same time. Also, some of you might like to look at the program with the thought of running Ryders at some other time.
