What has happened to the huge CAT? The CAT leader was missing and the alley was buzzing with rumors. Someone reported seeing a doggie ambulance swoop in and grab the exalted one. A vet added to the story by telling of a mysterious operation performed last night. The CATS were ready for revenge, but alas the huge one was not to be seen. Fears were heightened when the big DOG strolled in with a stranger. He inadvertently registered as Kenny and CATHUGO - Foul!!! Called the CATS - that is not our faithful leader - never would she fight for the enemy. Many were relieved to see the correction to the registration when posted as Kenny and Doghugo - not the beloved Cathugo.
We all know you can fool some of the horses you lead to water, but you can't pull a sheep dog over a cat's eyes. Something was rotten besides the left over fish in the garbage cans and the DOGS must be behind it. Confirmation that they must be trying to pull a fast one was made when Orla lost her bunny. One minute she was happily (notice - this is not the ferocious and infamous "ever after" dog) fighting off CATS with her faithful companion Rueful_Rabbit when POOF!!! she was now with Rueful_DOG. Kenny announced a win for he and the stranger, but the stranger quickly added "Sorry CATS, I didn't mean to win". There was no doubt now - definitely some sort of covert action. A later explanation was offered by a passing frog who was told by the stranger "Kenny just dressed me to be a dog". It should be pointed out that the conspiracy will not go unanswered by the CATS. There was even talk of using strange weapons at a later time. LittleSwan, one of the CAT strategists was heard saying "Next time I'll use Flannery". This obvious breach of Alley Code Rule # 13.2.6 (the "claws and teeth only rule") is sure to open the door to a flood of long since outlawed weapons. One can only remember the carnage caused by such inventions as Drury, Cappelletti, Lebonsohl and the dreaded Weak Jump Shift.
Oh well, the DOGS retained the championship with a close score of 27 to 25, but at what price glory?
