Proof positive that secret agent Pob, accomplished cat burglar, obtained the secret game plan of the dogs. Word has it that security was breached at the doghouse of BigDog himself where not only was the plan stolen but the BigDog disappeared as well. The rumor was confirmed when shortly before the match word came in from London that a band of terrorist cats were holding the beloved BigDog. A warning was given to the dogs by IMDJ1, the head of the terrorists group. "Lose today dogs, or you'll never see BigDog again." This threat was not taken lightly. The growls could be heard throughout the alley at the thought. A conference was quickly called and the situation evaluated. If they won, BigDog would be lost. If they lost, it would only be one in the last five matches. They could easily start a new run once BigDog was safe. The decision was made quickly and with little discussion. After jumping to a 7-3 lead in the first round, the dogs snarled and barked their challenges for the second round. The cats, who were preoccupied with a large cake brought in for Harlequin_Smiles' birthday, paid little attention to the hollow woofs. They had the dogs' secret plan and could relax until the trap was sprung in the final round. The second round ended in a dead heat with each team earning 5 wins. The final round went right to the wire with each team gaining then losing the lead. As the dust cleared at the final table, a cry was heard - "We really do love you BigDog". Yes, the cats had won the day, but was it because they had stolen the secret plan? Was it the terrorist threat? Or was it as one cat reported - "We just played better"? We will have to wait till next week for the answer. Let's hope enough of those black cats make it back from the Halloween party by next Saturday.
