Yahoo! What a ride!

I was knocked off twice during the tournament today. The Poms both got bumped in the first round. I thought we were going to have another of those days, but fortunately we have a bunch of real troopers and everyone kept fighting on. Speaking of fighting, the fur was really flying today. The DOGS were wild from the start. Win after win was reported and for a while it looked like the CATS were down and out. Valiant efforts by newcomers Barbaraj505/NE_Junebug and Rebekkha and her veteran partner AlanMitchell won two for the CATS. This inspired two more wins, but the score was a lopsided 7 to 4 in favor of the DOGS at the end of the round.

Someone must have found the catnip in the second round as the CATS came screaming back to win the second round 8 to 3. Cats Jean/Dutchie bid and made 6 hearts in a losing effort but the CATS were ahead after 2 rounds by a score of 12 - 10.

The last round was a real scrapper. Steve (sub Glossit)/Felden bid and made 6 hearts for the CATS while defeating previously unbeaten Novelty/Anna (sub Dottie_s). Dogs Billsgirl/Joel returned the favor by beating the CATS previously unbeaten pair of AlanMitchell (sub Pomfretd)/Rebekkha. When the two big DOGS kenny/Amalekite were beaten by Harlequin_Smiles/BlackRockGal, it looked bad for the DOGS. The huge CAT had called the dogcatcher and the CATS were starting to meow. Kenny vowed to stay and watch his pack turn into the DINGOS he knew they were. He went to root on some of the HUSH PUPPIES they were becoming. He got immediate help from newcomers SADIE/RIDD_50 who beat LittleSwan/Myrna to become the only undefeated team for the day. Back and forth went the match. Finally it was over, the dust settled, and the DOGS came out on top. Final score DOGS 24 CATS 20.
