Drannalee

Goodbye Drannalee

I received this in my mail today, I don't think many of you received it. Very sad news.

Anna Lee Meador from her daughter Valerie

Hello All,

I don't know any other way to do this but send out an email. I know you were all dear to my mother and were a large part of her life.

Anna Lee passed away this afternoon (12/30/05). She was on her way to a doctor's appointment and stopped breathing. I will send another email when I know the funeral arrangements.

Valerie Meador

i am so sorry

regards
aby

Anna, I can't believe you have gone, and that you left so suddenly. We just talked a couple of weeks ago. I got concerned and sent you a card the other day. I have always planned to come and visit you. I only heard recently about your home burning down. Your beloved home. I can't imagine how you felt about losing it. Your home phone and your cell phone have both been full so I didn't get to talk to you.

I wanted to hear about your cancer treatment and how you were doing with it. I imagine you were lonely without Murphy and I know you never got over Hap's death. Me either, which is why I haven't seen you to play bridge since we were in St Louis. I can't bear to be in Yahoo and in Ryder without Hap, and now without you. I just can't believe you have gone Anna.

We are planning to put something on the Alley wall in your memory. Harle will think of something suitable.

I have always been so proud to know you and so glad that you and Murphy came to visit, even though it was only once. I had wanted to visit you this summer but my daughter had a friend in WV that was the opposite direction and we didn't have time to do both. Now I wish we had.

Hope you and Hap are buttering up the dealer.

I loved meeting Anna in St. Louis. I loved playing bridge with her. She was a very sharp player. The last few years of her life, she went through hell...broken hips, cancer, arthritis...you name it. I guess God figured she'd been through enough. Perhaps she would have suffered greatly had she lived longer. I'm so sorry that her little light will no longer be on in my Messenger, but will see the light from her star on a clear night. Thank you for the sad but necessary news.

Love and Happy New Year to all, and condolences to Anna's family.

wow, nancy.....i don't think anyone could have stated this better. i remember meeting anna at new orleans, for lunch here at bob evans in the bridgeport area, at my 2 bridge gatherings here, staying at her house before driving to st. louis, getting lost in downtown st. louis after dark on the way to the get-together while driving her lexus (and trying to talk on her cell for directions at the same time), and other fun times. anna was a great bridge player, a really smart lady, and she will really be missed by all. sincere sympathy to anna's daughters and family.

love,

also met Drannalee in St. Louis for the first time. But, I had played with her for a couple of years. She was so kind and helpful to me as I am always intimidated by "you awesome bridge players"!! Being a novice is very scarey and she never ever hesitated to ask me to play with her in the ryders!! She had a terrific personality and great sense of humor!! She will be missed a lot!!

Dogs and Cats had a spirited bittersweet contest Saturday Dec 31st and Dedicated the Match to Dr Anna who passed away yesterday. May our God, Lord of All Creation, wrap His Arms around her now and forever.

Arriving back home today and checking my yahoo mail, brought me the sad news about Anna Lee. She & I go way back, first meeting at a very small meet in Atlanta. We remained friends, and renewed friendship through many more Yahoo meets. I'm not totally surprised of her passing as she has had a very troublesome past 2 years. It is sad to know of someone having so much will to continue but unable to go on due to declining health. I shall never forget her and perhaps there are some great bridge games going on in heaven with so many of our "Maxs Alley friends". For those of you who have never been able to attend a Yahoo Bridge meet, I hope someday the opportunity may avail itself to you to meet some of these fine folks and make everlasting friendships for life. My sympathy to her family and friends.

Pat just informed me yesterday of Anna's passing. She told me how to join max's alley to post my condolences. I played with Anna online and met her in St. Louis. She was a very nice and smart lady. I am glad I had the chance to meet her. She truely had a rough 2 yrs. Mt deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

Goodbye Anna,

Your friends here will all miss you and always remember you with love and affection. Our one consolation is knowing that you are at peace, and with those who have gone before. Hopefully you and all our friends with you are enjoying your own Ryders, with slams galore and never a set in sight.

You are and will always be missed
