I have always kind of watched science fiction, but I wasn't a serious fan. I like the idea that we can time travel, go to other planets, regrow bodies, and have world peace. Imagination is wonderful. If you look at those old Star Trek shows from the 1960's they're using cellphones. That came true, just like the old Jules Verne stories about going to the moon. It's awesome. If we didn't have imagination, we wouldn't have invention.

This past year I became a fan of Doctor Who. This is a series about a weird man who travels in an old fashioned kind of telephone booth called a Police Box that was used in England in the middle of the 20th century. But it really isn't a Police Box, it's a space ship called the TARDIS (all caps)that defies the laws of physics by being bigger on the inside! And it can time travel, and that gives us some pretty interesting stories!

I started reading up about it, and found out that the Doctor Who TV series started in the UK in 1963! So it has a history. The Doctor that I'm watching is number 10. The Doctor travels with a person or persons and this year he travelled with Rose Tyler (actress Billie Piper). You don't exactly know if she's his "girlfriend" but she acts like it. I think I would like to travel with the Doctor myself! The BBC has a good website that explains a lot of stuff, just search Doctor Who and you will learn more than you probably wanted to.

I really liked the Christmas show because Rose's MOTHER got in the TARDIS and that blew me away! I didn't see the shows in order, but you can figure things out. Another one I liked was called "Tooth & Claw" which was about werewolves, Queen Victoria, and martial arts. I mean, where could you find all those things in one story??!!!!

The Doctor is played by hottie actor David Tennant who was "Barty Crouch" in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. He has these wonderful wide open eyes that really fit the mad scientist / Time Lord / space traveler / alien. He gets excited about stuff like a little kid. I LOVE HIM! When he's finished with Martha (who is the next one after Rose and I haven't seen her yet) I'm auditioning for companion! He needs an owl!
