Me & Professor Snape
There's lots of kids out there who grew up with Harry Potter. As he got older, we got older, and we stopped thinking of Harry Potter as something of ours and more like those stories, some of them good and some bad, that are required reading in most schools. I really miss that first magic, of thinking this is mine! and growing up and realizing that Harry was a worldwide phenomenon. I started reading the books before the movies came out, and they were great because you envisioned everything. I was sometimes mad at the movies because they left out things that I thought were sacred. Don't you miss all those sites that were set up like Hogwarts and you had to take classes and things? I do. One of my favorite sites wasn't really a Harry Potter site but kind of a spinoff. It was called "Wizard Mansion", and I made alot of friends there before you started worrying so much about I.D. theft and people coming to your house and murdering you. That's where I kind of learned to do webpages, and even though I've lost touch with most of the people I knew there, it was really a fun interactive kind of role playing site. I'm not exactly sure when it closed down but it was up for years. Snape was my favorite character on Harry Potter from the very first book, because he was a much worse bully than the other kids like Malfoy and Crabbe and Goyle. You can work around bullies if they're kids but what do you do about a bully adult? One thing I liked about Hogwarts was that the kids were pretty secretive about it. You knew that because their brothers and sisters only knew a little bit about the school and they just didn't talk much to anyone except the people in their house. It was a kid's society and I've always wondered if boarding school was like that since I never went to one myself. 2007-01-31 03:12:56 GMT
