Oh well.

A Danish wedding, a fairy tale wedding, that reminded me of that between Prince Charles and Princess Diana. I dunno why. I only saw few shots of it. The scences were quite granduer with many lining the streets. White satin dress. Prince moved to tears etc... No doubt was moving but i rememebered me describing it as "a wedding you are not invited to". Oh well, is that a cause for others to celebrate? I dunno. Not that I care much. But then, people would like to celebrate about anything possible coz that keep them happy, even if only for one night. (i dun really care and just really dun see the cause for the hype)

America, Britain and Japan etc have declared that if the Iraqi says that it is better for them if the US leave, they will leave--an exit strategy. Transfer of sovereignty. But well, will it mean freedom for Iraqi? Will it signify the start of democracy? Afraid not. What kind of country will Iraq become? I watched Collin Power speak and wonder why did they invade at the first place?

The Mirror--an editor sacked for fake photos depicting British troops abusing Iraqi prisoners. Those fake photos were used by whatever that Iraqi's name is to stir up anger and anti-British hatred...stiring them to rebell against British soldiers.  Fake photos not taken in Iraq, solders in pics not British troops at all. I wonder with anger why on Earth could people be so unethical so reckless in regard to the serious consequences and danger that could cause to not only the troops who are doing their service to the country but to the country itself.

Nicolas Berg who was beheaded in Iraq. I watched with my deepest condolences and sadnes. A young man who went to Iraq in search for a job and to help rebuild the country was beheaded. Wasn't he innocent? Didn't he go to the war-torn country for a good cause? Why such injustice?

At the wrong place at the wrong time?

Israil and Palestinan conflict. Again, more killed.

Humanitarian crisis in Sudan--lack of water, medical aid, food...etc..What isn't anyone doing more about it? Can't we help? ... What great divide between us and them. Ethic cleansing.

Occasionally looking out to the world does make appreciate how lucky I and many of us are.  I feel very strongly about what is happening around me. LIke why are there so many people suffering? Can't we do something about it?

Recently, I was disgusted reading those pictures about abuse of Iraqi prisoner. How ugly human beings are! What evil we are capable of. At that point, I suddenly rememeberd the book, Lord of The flies, which we read in Year 10. All humans are capable of evil. It is civilisation that keeps it at bay. It is law and order that prevents the degradation of civilisation and democracy that prevents our savagery nature. It is so scary, so ugly to see such immoral, brutal deeds done by the people whose duty is  to deliver peace and democracy to Iraq.

IN fact, only on Friday did I began to understand why exactly was it illegal to invade Iraq. I had finally decided to do my major law essay on the legality of America's invasion. I read the reading material I have to read and base my essay on and finally realise why it was illegal. In the past I had never bothered to read past the facts and ignored the details. Oh well, now i kinda get it. Yet, knowing these things...seemed very distant yet very close. I mean it's beyond our power to do anything yet it seemed so close coz our empathy or sympathy bring us closer to them.

There is always the good and the bad in us. After the recent events, I do appreciate why the book, Lord Of The Flies, is still being studied today.
