| 07 05 04 I just came back from work and had fried rice for supper. For those of you who don't already know, i worked at a restaurant tongiht. AND guess who I saw today! Lauren Coolahan! ANyway, we didn't reallly talk at school but then you know, cheltenham, what connections. ARGH! Just when i thought next week will be my assessments-free week, I got my LAW ASSIGNMENT TODAY! Dammit. But then the critical essay task is well quite exciting too! I literally screamed when I saw it. I was surprised to see it on the webct but at the time really excited about what I am going to write. The topics in uni are nothing like high school There is so much more freedom in what we can write about. I mean, there is no way you could write about Iraq and its weapons of mass destruction in high school! But in uni yes! COol, im still wondering which ONE topic out of four i should choose. Well, let have a look at them. Discuss through critical analysis of the course materials with reference to at least two topics/examples from the course: Quesition A "Courts stand against any winds that blow as havens of refuge for those who might otherwise suffer because they are helpless, weak, outnumbered, or because they are non-conforming victims of prejudice and public excitement' Question B Was America's invasion of Iraq under either a natural law or positive law framework? Does the apparent non-existent of weapons of mass destruction make any difference to your answer? Question C "Australia has lost its claim to be described as a good international citizen in the human rights arean" Question D "I think, though, that one of the most important results of reconceptualising from 'objective truth' to rhetorical event will be a more nuanced sense of legal and social responsibility." Cool! At the moment im quite excited about which one I am going to write about :) |
