A little while later, Rain and I were talking to Reese Witherspoon and had finally reached the topic of her husband- Ryan Phillippe.
"So where is Ryan tonight?" I asked.
"Oh, he's at home with Ava�he told me to go without him and that I needed the break," Reese said.
"How sweet," Rain replied.
"I know. Ryan is the sweetest person I have ever known," Reese said. "I mean, Lance and JC are sweet too and they have beautiful voices, but you know how it goes�"
Rain and I nodded. "Of course."
I felt Lance's hand touch my shoulder. "Osh, can I talk to you for a minute?"
"Of course. Excuse me for a minute," I said, standing up and following Lance into the front lobby of the building. "What's up?"
"Happy one month anniversary, Osh," Lance said with a smile as he bent down to kiss me. Before our lips even touched, camera flashes began to go off and Lance sent an annoyed glance in their direction. He took my hand and led us into an elevator.
"Hmm�this looks familiar," I said smiling.
Lance smiled back. "I know." He kissed me softly and then pulled a jewelry box out of his pocket.
"Lance, you don't have to-"
"Shh. Just open it." Lance handed me the black velvet box.
I looked at Lance's expectant face and then opened the box. Inside lay a delicate -looking silver necklace with a silver heart pendant. "Lance�"
"Turn it over," Lance said.
I did as I was told and flipped the heart over. Inscribed on the back in graceful lettering were the words, "I promise you."
"Well�what do you think?" Lance asked.
I was utterly speechless. "I-I-I love you, Lance." I hugged him tightly. "Thank you so much."
"I love you too, Osh," Lance said as the elevator doors opened and there stood Jessica Alba.
"Oops! Sorry guys," Jessica said, blushing as she turned away and the doors closed.
"Osh, I promise you that I'll always be here for you, no matter where I am or what I'm doing. Just call me and I'll be there," Lance said, holding my hands in his. "I want us to make an agreement."
I nodded. "Okay."
"No matter how buys we are, no matter where we are, we can't let our work make us drift apart," Lance said.
"I promise," I replied. "No matter where, no matter how busy, I won't let us drift apart."
"I promise too," Lance said, then I kissed him as the elevator doors opened again and we heard "Whoops-sorry-private moment."
Lance smiled and clasped the necklace around my neck, then too my hand. "Let's go."
We arrived back at the hotel later that night. Lance gave me a sweet kiss good night and we went into our separate rooms. Rainbow entered the room a few minutes later, smiling giddily.
"What's up with you?" I asked, crawling under the covers of my bed.
"JC just gave me a present," Rainbow exclaimed. "He sang to me, then he gave me this promise ring." Rainbow stuck her hand with the ring on it out so I could get a closer look.
"Oh, that's soo pretty! Lance gave me this," I said, taking he necklace off and handing it to Rain.
"That is so sweet, Osh."
"Yeah, we went into the elevator and he made me this promise that he'd always be there for me no matter what," I said. "It was really great."
"That's awesome. I am soo glad I met JC," Rain sighed. "I never thought I would ever feel this way about anyone I'd been dating for only a month, but with JC�"
"I feel the same way about Lance. It's been only a month, but I feel like it's been forever," I said as my cell phone rang. "Hello?"
"Osh? Why didn't you tell me you and Rain were in New York?" Eddie yelled.
"Hey Eddie. It was a spur of the moment thing- the arrangements were made at like one in the morning. We didn't want to wake you up-"
"You could have called before you left!"
"We left at six and oh my gosh, you should've seen the press and the teenyboppers- you would've laughed your head off," I said. "We're sorry, Eddie."
Eddie sighed. "It's okay, Osh. I was just a tad bit worried, but I saw you on FANatic, so it's all right."
"Did you know that today is Rain and JC's one month anniversary? It's Lance's and mine too," I said with a grin.
"Happy one month to all of you- can I talk to Rain?" Eddie asked.
"Of course." I tossed the phone to Rainbow. |
