An Icing Event at Black Mountain On the night of July 13/14, 2015 following snow falls for much of the day, temperatures fell to freezing, with further light snow falls, drizzle and mist. Leaves and twigs were coated with ice up to several millimetres thick, while powerlines were cased in ice up to a centimetre thick. As the temperature rose back above freezing around 8am, the ice coatings began to slide off trees and powerlines. |
