| Wow, the show last night was awesome. Brand New fucking owned and now I want to know everything about them. Melina, Cory and I left Athens at around 6:30 and got to The Revolution around 7:30. I saw Luke as we were walking up to the line and i talked to him for a quick second. Melina walked further down the line to see if she could see Janelle who was near the front. Then Janelle came to our end of the line. She said that Eddie had put her on the guestlist along with +2, so Melina and I didn't have to pay. Thanks Eddie! So we all went to Janelle's spot in line where Jody and Brad were. As i was walking over there, I saw Matt and so i waved to let him know i was there. I'm not sure when they opened the doors, maybe 8:30? The first band to play was called Two Week Notice, and they were actually pretty good. They have a girl lead singer who also plays guitar so thats pretty bad ass. They look like they're probably still in high school, and I'm sure that with time, they can become really awesome. After them was Rufio. I didn't really watch their set, because it was getting hot inside, so we just hung around outside for awhile. We went back inside and heard the last two Rufio songs, then waited for Brand New. Brand New opened with Shower Scene. Janelle and I were having a blast singing and dancing to the music. They sounded SO incredible, and all the kids were way into them. They also played Jude Law and a Semester Abroad, Mix Tape, Failure by Design, Last Chance to Lose Your Keys, Logan to Government Center, Seventy Times 7, and, Magazines. I don't remember them playing Sudden Death In Carolina, but i can't imagine why they wouldn't play that one. In any case, they were fucking amazing. I got this zip upsweater thing. It's not a hoodie, cause it doesn't have a hood, but its badass anyways. I figured I'd get that instead of a shirt since on their site it's $40 and at the show it was $30. Taking Back Sunday were last of course, and although we didnt stay for the whole set, what I heard was great. Songs i heard them play were You Know How I Do, Bike Scene, Cute Without The 'E' (Cut From the Team), Great Romances of the 20th Century, Ghost Man On Third, Timberwolves At New Jersey, and You're So Last Summer. I think seeing them live made me like them more, and so when they play the 40 Watt with Recover and Midtown, I'm gonna have a lot of fun. That was definitely an awesome show and I'm happy that I got to go. | |||||
