| So yesterday I got to Janelle's a little after 8. She showed me how to scan my pictures and then burned them onto a cd along with like 1000 mp3s. Hehe. Thanks Janelle! Melina came around 9:30 and we left for the Masquerade. [minus] were supposed to go on at 11. When we got inside Chronic MD was on stage. There were A LOT of people there, considering it was a [minus] show and all. There are never that many people there to see them. So I guess it means that it's starting to happen. [minus] is getting popular. The place was chalk full of whores in training and it was just weird. The night got even stranger. While Melina and I were standing there watching Chronic, I saw someone who looked like Josh from Fold. But this person didn't have dreads so I was like, "naw that can't be him" but then I got a better look and I was like, "holy shit that is josh!" then his brother walked by us, and as he did I tapped him on the shoulder and asked "did your brother cut his hair?" and he said, "yeah." So i pointed Josh out to Melina and she was shocked too. Josh had THE COOLEST dreads ever and now their gone! It was really sad :-( But he said it was just time to cut them. *sigh* Then I saw Missy from Pius, and we talked for a bit, and she asked me if I was there with Amy, and I was like, "umm no." That struck me as odd 'cause why would she assume that I was there with Amy. But right before [minus] went on, Amy came up to me, and I was really surprised to see her there. She was there to see one of the opening bands, lumus, and had never seen [minus] before. She brought a bunch of her friends and introduced me to them. There were so many of them, and I was like, "shit did you bring your whole house with you?" Eventually [minus] started their set. They opened with Enemy and also played Half Mile, Light Years, Balls, Nuill, Father's Eyes, Stranded, and a new song called Real Life. I had heard Real Life before when it was called Changing Colors. [Lee] played it for us when we went down to athens for the one line drawing show. Anyway, we weren't up front like we usually are, because there were all these groupies all lined up in front. It was the strangest thing. That just never happens at [minus] shows. Is this the beginning of the end? There were girls screaming out for them and reaching out their hands, and melina, jody, brad, janelle and I were just like "como?" Anyway, they ended with Hesitant and Polite which was AWESOME, and Melina and I made sure to sing Jonah's part nice and loud so that we could help out Lee. Hehe. They were good. After they finished, all these people like ran to the side of the stage where the backstage entrance is, and again we were like, "huh?" I just can't fully explain how odd something like that is at a [minus] show. It's usually just the [crew] but there were all of these other people and it was strange. Amy thinks Dusty's hot, so after they played, I grabbed her and said, "come on, i'll introduce you to him." Fuck that waiting in line bullshit to talk to them. So I ran to the stage because he was getting his boobkbag and shit, and I called him over. So he came over and i introduced him to Amy and we chatted for a bit. I'm happy that she likes them, because I used to talk about them a lot to her. We chilled for a little bit longer there, then left. I had fun, but I don't know how I'm going to get use to all these new people at [minus] shows. Their OUR band dammit! I don't want to share. | ||||||
