| I showed up at the Cotton Club around 4:15, and saw Jeremy and Brad there. I walked with them to the CNN center to get something to drink. Then we went back to the Cotton Club. Cory and Melina came shortly thereafter and we went to the CNN center so that they could get some food. It was pretty weird cause Larry and Daryl were just sitting down at this one table near Chik-fil-a, and I just thought, �How weird. Daryl and Larry from Glassajw are right there.� But they need to eat too. HeHe. After Cory and Melina ate, we walked back to the venue. Stood around for awhile....then I went inside the lower level door to see if Akeem was inside..and he was. So i talked to him for a bit, then went back outside. Back outside the line was so damn long and I was like WHOA! Where did all of these Glassjaw fans come from? Anywho, they opened the doors a little after 7, and we ran to the front. They had barricades up which was weird 'cause they never have those up at the Cotton Club. I had a good spot, though and wasn't gonna move. It took forever to Piebald to start, but when they did, their set went by really fast which was good. Then Glassjaw came on and wow, the place just went nuts. It was clear who everyone was there to see. The room was packed (sold out show) and everyone was so excited. They played the same set list as the night before, Tip Your Bartender, When One Eight Becomes Two Zeros, Ape Dos Mil, Pretty Lush, Siberian Kiss, Piano, Motel of the White Locust, Must've Run All Day, Cosmopolitan Bloodloss, and Two Tabs of Mescaline. No Ry Ry�s song though. Overall they sounded much better than the night before, �cause the sound at Tremont was kind of fucked. They also seemed to just be having more fun. Daryl warned the security guards that if they fucked with the kids, he'd stop playing. And he did. Kevin (chronic md) usually gets up on stage and jumps out into the crowd at shows. So i figured he would do it this time. And he did. So when the guards were dragging him out of the crowd, Daryl stopped the rest of the band and said, "Wait, are u gonna throw him out?" And a security guard said "Yeah" And then Daryl said, "Well did he hurt anyone?" and the security guard said, "Yeah me." Then I think the guard got scared that Daryl would just stop singing all together so he let Kevin go, and didn't kick him out. Haha. But then Kevin did it again, and Daryl said, "You're a punk because I helped you the first time." But the guards couldn�t' get to him to kick him out. Anyway their set was amazing. And being front row was wonderful. I had a blast and took lots of pictures. After Glassjaw, we got out of the front. Went to find Akeem and saw him with [matt] & [lee]. Molly was also there, along with the Fold boys, Dru and Josh. Cory went to buy something. I was just standing there when I saw Dave, so I stopped him for a picture and told him that they were awesome. Then out of no where I saw Lauren who was in one of my classes freshman year. I saw her at Radiohead last summer too. So that was cool. We left before Juliana Theory, and outside it was raining like a mofo. But that's ok. The show was good. | |||||
