| This was my very first time at the Cotton Club ever! After all those years of wanting to go see shows there but never being old enough to, at the age of 19, I finally got to see a show there. Melina and I arrived at about 9:30 after desperately trying to meet up with each other for an hour. Jeremy had told us that he wasn�t coming �cause he didn�t have any money, but when we entered the front door, there he was with Dru! I was so happy. Jeremy always makes shows more fun. Anyway, I paid for Melina so she owes me lots of money now. Because I�m a dork and I don�t drive, the guys checking ID�s were a little thrown off when I handed them my passport (hehe, Jeremy and Melina will NEVER let me down for that) One said, �naw she�s not old enough, but she will be soon,� and they let me in. Jeremy went to hang with the Fold crew and Melina and I stayed in our little spot until we spotted Janelle. We called her over and she came to us. She was with her friend Jill. This was the first time I met Janelle and she�s so cool! She said that her and the guys had eaten at jocks and jills, I�m guessing the one at the CNN center and talked about penises. Umm OK? Anyway, we bullshitted for awhile, just talking about random stuff. We went down front to check out Darwin�s who Janelle is friends with. They�re better live than they are on CD. One of their singers (yes they have two...that�s so in these days) looks like Serj from System. Anyway, they were all right. About half way into their set, Melina and I went to the back and hung with Jeremy and the Fold dudes. Both Josh and Dru said hi to us. Dru was drinking a lot though. I remember seeing one of the dudes from [minus] taking him back into the dressing room and when he came out he had like 3 bottles of beer for his friends. He was getting pretty fucked up. Jeremy talked about how cool Jahred and BC (Hed planet earth) were and said that he had fun at the Pharcyde show with Dru on Thursday. Anyway this band Trick that played were all right. They were like some kind of rap rock thing. More rock though�they covered Murder Was the Case by Snoop. It sounded OK�they had a DJ blah blah blah...enough about them. I think everyone there was there to see [minus]. They fucking tore it up! The pit was insane. They opened with Enemy and closed with Nuill. They also played Stranded, At the Scene, Father�s Eyes, Anti-vanity, Half-Mile, Hesitant and Polite and Everything, I don�t think they�re EVER playing Savior again which sucks! I got lots of pictures of them playing...and I got Jordan�s towel...haha...well actually Melina got it and made me stick it in my pocket. When she makes me hold shit for her, I just keep it. Hesitant and Polite sounded the best out of all of the songs though, �cause on Jonah�s part everyone was singing along and it sounded so cool. We were definitely showing our boys some love! The pit was nuts. I know the fold crew usually goes off but Dru was just fucking gone. He was so wasted and was jumping on people and going crazy. Jeremy looked at me and smiled and said, �I think he has lost his mind.� �ya think?� I asked sarcastically. I�ve never seen him act like that before. It was funny though. He kept running into Melina...Josh was good though. He wasn�t that messed up. Anyway, since Dru was indeed so fucked up, Dusty had to do Jonah�s part on H&P even though Dru usually does it. Anyway, their set was awesome. I wanted to get a shirt afterwards but all they had was XL. YUCK! Janelle said that they�d have mediums in sometime soon. I didn�t get the record because I�m supposed to get one for free. After [minus], we had to go so we told Jeremy and Janelle bye�didn�t stay around for Skerv. All in all it was a really great show and I had an awesome time. | |||||
