| Alright so yesterday we did end up going to Chimaira. I rode the train to the Doraville station. Now usually there are a bunch of nasty ass thugs who want to talk to me on the train. Now Im not being egotistical about this, they'll try and talk to anyone with boobs. Usually I bring my headphones with me, so that no one will say anything to me. But I didn't have them yesterday because I was going to the show. Everything was fine on the ride there. But while I was waiting for Melina this fool tried to holla at me with this weak ass line. I just looked at him and said, "I am not EVEN in the mood today, so I suggest you stop bothering me." and he left. I don't mean to be a bitch but I really hate when that happens. Their must be some sign on my back that says, "if you're a broke ass, no good thug, please come and talk to me." Anyway, Melina eventually came and we went to the masquerade. We actually got in with no problem, her name was on the guestlist which was good. We walked in and 36 crazy fists were on stage. We looked around for Akeem and couldn't find him. Then we saw his hair sticking out and so we went over to say hi. He was there with Brandon. They came to see Chronic MD. Then he told us that Leftfield Chris was there, so we went over to him to say hello. 36 crazy fists finished their set and next was God Forbid. Akeem didn't like them at all. It was funny though. Another black singer with dreads for people to mistake him for. They didn't seem as good as they were in Chattanooga. It might've been the sound quality there. Melina wanted Chimaira to play Sphere, so we looked around for Mark but couldn't find him. Jim walked by us and said hi and gave us hugs so I asked him if they could play it and he said that they couldn't. Later Mark would say that no one really remembered how to play it. There were a lot of kids there when Chimaira played and a good many of them knew the words which was great. Melina squeezed her way up front but I stayed to the side away from the sweaty shirtless mosher boys. Didn't really feel up to getting all sweaty and gross. They were awesome again though. They played the same set list as they did in Chattanooga, but added in Lend a Hand. It was a good set. I ended up getting another pick, but dammit it was another blue one! when the show ended we waited around a little for Mark to come out. When he did, we said our thank yous and what not. Mark said that he's starting to get sick, and is ready for a break from the road. He offered to put us on the guestlist for the Spartanburg show but we said "that's alright" Don't want to get Chimaired out. I asked if he would have time to see the new Star Wars next week since he's a big fan. He said he wants to wait and watch it. He wants to be in a theater by himself to see it and not deal with all the lines and stuff. Walking out the door with Brandon and Akeem, we saw the Chronic MD boys (who played second that night) standing next to a white van. We soon found out that it was THEIR van. Neil's dad bought it for them. Akeem could barely believe it. Chronic MD with a van?! And this just isn't some little old van. This is one of those vans that you can put equipment in. As a matter of fact, it's the same kind of van that poison the well had when they played under the couch last year. Akeem was in so much shock, it was funny. Melina didn't feel like taking me home so Akeem did. He and Brandon came inside and we chatted for like an hour. Im not sure what time they left. But that was the end of my night. |
