| We got to the Masquerade supper early like 6:45, because Melina said that the Masquerades home page said that the doors would open at 6:30. They were both wrong. While we were waiting, Eddie from Darwins came up to Melina and I and said hi. It was very random, so we were like, Ok. Grimm was near the booths, talking to a bunch of kids. Then we wondered where Akeem, Jeremy, and Janelle were. Janelle had told me that she was going to call Grimm before hand to see if she could get Lee and Jordan on the guest list. I decided to ask Eddie if he knew what time she would show up. So when he walked by us again, I called him over and I said, Do you know Janelle? And he said, Oh yeah I know Janelle. And I asked him if he knew when she was coming. He said he didnt, so he went over to Grimm and asked him. Then he came back to us and said that she had called Grimm and said that she was on her way. So we thanked Eddie and he went back inside. After a while, this dude who we saw at the Deftones show in SC came up to us. And he talked to us for a long ass time. We hadnt gotten our tickets yet but the people he was with had extra ones. So they sold them to us for $10 each, which is great because we wouldve had to pay $12 at the door. Janelle, Lee and Jordan eventually came. They were walking up from the parking lot when someone who recognized them of course stopped them. So they stayed and talked to this boy. Then we saw Jeremy, Akeem, Antonio, Brandon, and Joey coming from the other direction. They were a little late because Akeem had to pick up Jeremy since Jeremys car stopped running. Akeem went down to talk to the [guys] and Janelle. Then Jake went up to them and Melina freaked out! She couldnt believe he was there. I couldnt believe he was there. On the board, he was always saying how he was going to go to shows, but he never did. But there he was. When he left, she went down to talk to everyone. It didnt take too long for the doors to open. The first band to play was Sw1tched. They were ok. Theyre good friends with Chimaira; theyre from Ohio as well I believe. Nathan thinks theyre better than Chimaira, but obviously he hasnt got a clue. Darwins was next and they were actually alright. When they did Feel So Stupid, I just had to laugh. Whenever I hear that song I just remember Akeems imitation of Grimm and its just so funny. But they were good. Reveille was next. Theyre not bad, but theyre not terribly original in their sound, which is really unfortunate. I went on the floor for Nonpoint. They seemed a little different. I fear that they are becoming rock stars. They played a good set. The usual like Endure, Victim, Back Up, What A Day, Mindtrip, Double Stakked, Misled, and Hive. But they also played Hands, which is a new song, AND Years and Orgullo. Theyve never played those two songs live! And you know how long Ive been dying to hear Orgullo and it sounded awesome. Everyone was so into them, and I wondered where all of these fans came from. It was weird. They left the stage then did an encore with Tribute. Darwins came out on stage to do it with them and that was just awesome, because I never thought Id hear Tribute live. Andy looked really skinny. It seems as though hes lost a lot of weight. And Robb seemed to be acting a little stranger than usual. He and Janelle made nice, which was good. She was happy about that. The show was fun, but I think I can do without Nonpoint for awhile. Ive seen them so many times. Im due for a little break. | |||||
