[minus] , Lennon, and Skerv
Sunday November 11th, 2001- The Cotton Club: Atlanta, GA
This was such a fun show! And it was free to those with a 99x card. ROCK! Hehe. Melina and I first went to Frontera to have dinner with Janelle. We all love Mexican so this was a perfect place to go. I had a chicken quesadilla and it was divine!  Then we followed Janelle to this girl named Melissas house.  We got Melissa and then we all rode over to the Cotton Club for the show. There were a good number of people there. Chronic MD was there, and so was Kindlespine (minus Joey). We made rounds and said hello to everyone.  Then we just hung around until the doors opened.  Inside we were just waiting for the show to start.  Corey came up to Melina and I and introduced us to some of his friends.  Skerv was the first band to play, and they were really good.  They had their little fan club up front, who were really getting into them. I was able to get their sampler from some girl who was walking around.  During their set, Corey wanted to go and ask Dusty if they would play Hesitant and Polite, because he had never heard it live.  So him and Melina tried to go over and talk to Dusty, but there were a lot of people around him. And so when he went to the bar, they asked me if I could go over and ask him, so I went over to him, and they followed me. I tapped him on the shoulder, and he said, Hey whats up! and he gave me a hug. And then Corey and Melina took over after that. Corey said, Hey man I have a request. Can you play Hesitant and Polite? and Dusty said that they were going to, even if they had to drop another song. So that made us all happy because we knew that wed get to sing all the cool parts.  Lennon went on after Skerv.  Shes this 19 year old singer, that plays keyboards sometimes.  Her music is like hard rock, but she isnt and we werent really impressed by her. Melina said that she just didnt have any Umph and I knew exactly what she meant.  There was just nothing special about her really.  She was about to pop out of her shirt, much to the delight of several males in the crowd, Im sure. But she never did.  We were trying to figure out if her boobs were fake or not. I think they were real and that she just had on a really good push up bra.  But I digress.  [minus] was next and we went up front for them.  They opened with Nuill, which was different.  Jordans vocals were down so low so it was hard to hear him, but for the songs that we knew, we were so loud that he didnt even have to be heard.  They also played Balls, Light Years, Fathers Eyes, At the Scene, Half-Mile, Antivanity, Stranded and of course Hesitant and Polite. They even managed to sneak in Everything while Dusty was tuning his guitar for H&P.  Jordan was saying a lot of weird stuff that night. Hes just a weirdo sometimes. And during Antivanity I believe, he like sat down on the stage with his back towards me, and just let himself fall, and he like fell back on me. And I was like, What is this boy doing? and he wouldnt get back up, it was just so funny. And I tried to push him onto this other girl, but he just leaned back on me again. Then he pulled himself back up. Hehe.  He also put the mic in my face during At the Scene. Hes very interactive with the crowd, which is good. Hesitant and Polite was the last song, and of course Dru-Fold got up on stage to sing Jonahs part. But we in the crowd totally sang over him.  It was so cool. I just LOVE that song.  After their set, the people that worked there were quick to kick us out.  So we had to leave. But boy oh boy did I have fun.  It was a great show!
