| Kittie, Mudvayne, Factory 81, Boiler Room, and [minus] Saturday November 26th, 2000- The Masquerade: Atlanta, GA |

| I really wanted to see Kittie. Melina had driven up from Florida where she had been celebrating Thanksgiving with her family. She picked me up at my house around 6:30. We went to McDonalds first, they made our way to the Masquerade. It was really yucky weather, and we had to wait outside. It was raining a little and very cold. We kept shivering, just praying for them to open the doors. While we were waiting we saw minus' name on the marquee. We were only expecting Kittie, Mudvayne, Factory 81, and Boiler Room. Now minus was added to that already long list. AHH! Five bands to see in one night? I couldn't believe it! It was gonna be a long ass show. While waiting outside, we saw this black dude with dreads walk by us. Melina again predicted (just as she had done with Elias the first time we saw him) that this guy with the dreads was in a band. Sure enough, when we went inside and the first band hit the stage, that guy happened to be the lead singer of minus, Jordan Williams. How weird. Melina had been hearing about minus on the TapRoot rant board, because Tyler, the board's owner, really seemed to like them. So we were interested in seeing them play. They were full of energy and just going nuts on stage. During one song, Jordan got so into it that he jumped into the crowd, and fell on me. I totally wasn't expecting it because I had my head turned and when I turned back around he was coming right towards me. He only fell on like half of me, so he ended up hitting the ground. He should've at least warned us first so that we could've prepared ourselves. Anyway, they played a really good set and I was impressed. Boiler Room went on next. This was the 2nd time I had seen them, and they were a lot better than when we saw them with Ultraspank. But I still really wasn't into their music. Factory 81 played after them. They were really awesome, but the coolest thing about them was that their bass player looked like Wes Borland. I figured he must've gotten that all the time because the resemblance was striking and very obvious. Melina thought I shouldn't say anything because it might make him mad. But after they played and he came out to shake hands and talk to people, someone yelled, "We love you Wes Borland!" and Kevin just smiled. Everyone around us laughed, because it was pretty funny. While we were standing there, Melina felt something on the floor near her feet. She bent down to pick it up, and it was a CD. A factory 81 CD. A signed Factory 81 CD. We figured a crowd surfer had dropped it. Oops sucks for them! That's what they get for kicking people in the head when they're up there. After Factory 81 was Mudvayne. I was SOOO not looking forward to Mudvayne. There was this group of guys I remember seeing at the Ultraspank show that just went crazy when Mudvayne played. Those same guys were at this show and I knew they were going to go nuts. I don't particularly care for Mudvayne, so I just tried my best to enjoy their performance while staying away from those crazy guys. Finally after 4 bands, Kittie took the stage. And the place went NUTS! I don't know what it is with these girls. They just drive people in the crowd wild. I was getting hit, run into, and kicked in the head by crowd surfers. I really wanted to stay up front, but I couldn't take all the craziness up there. So Melina and I got out of the front and went to the back of the masquerade. We watched the rest of Kittys set from back there. They weren't as good as they were at Ozzfest. Morgan screamed way too much in parts where she should've been singing. And they kinda just stand there and play; they don't really move much or jump around. This one girl up front looked exactly like Morgan, same hair cut and everything, which was kinda scary. Fallon had braids in her hair and she was wearing a sky blue Hatebreed tank top. After Kittie, we left before meeting them. We were so tired and beat up and aching that we just wanted to get home and go to sleep. Besides, in only two days we were going on a roadtrip to see Deftones, Incubus and TapRoot. Our bodies would need to rest up for that. | ||||||
