| Incubus and Hoobastank Sunday September 30th, 2001- The Tabernacle: Atlanta, GA |

| Sunday I was gearing up for the Incubus show. I wanted to get there at 2, but got there around 2:30 because I got held back. My mom didnt leave the house until like 1:30 to take me to the station. I walked to the Tabernacle from the Little 5 Points stop. I walked around the front and no one was there which I found odd, so I walked around to the back, and sure enough there were some kids there getting pictures with Brandon, and having him sign stuff. I went over there excited that I was going to get a picture with Brandon, FINALLY but then he left! I was crushed. But I figured they'd come back out eventually. Then Akeem showed up. He had spent the night in Atlanta with Haley and I told him that he should come and keep me company, which he did, which was very sweet of him. Dirk passed by on the phone once, but when he passed by the second time, he wasnt on the phone so we were able to get his attention. I got him to sign Make Yourself, and I took a picture with him. Brandon eventually came back out and I was SOO excited to get a picture with him. Now I dont have to regret not getting one, which is pretty awesome. He also signed Make Yourself for me. Those would be the only two from Incubus who I would meet that night. I really wanted to meet Jose too, who was signing stuff for a while, but then left before I could get a picture. Kilmore was outside for like two seconds, and I didnt see Mike until the actual show. BUT, at least I got a picture with Brandon, and thats pretty kick ass. I did want Jose to sign this drumhead that I had gotten from one of the crew guys, but alas that didnt happen either. So oh well. Akeem and I went back in line so that I could still have a good spot. Melina got there around 6 without Chad which was great because that wouldve been weird. But Akeem didnt seem too psyched to see her there. Bad blood between those too. He left after hanging with us for a while. The doors opened around 7 and the show started shortly thereafter. Hoobastank were ok. The lead singer, Doug, looks like Brandons clone. His hair, his clothes, his body, even his damn hat, totally Brandon. They played a short set which I was happy about because I really wanted to see Incubus. When Incubus finally hit the stage, I was so pumped. They opened with Privilege. We were on Dirks side, right up against the railing. We were sooo squashed there, and our legs hurt, but at least we were in front. This security guard named Carl kept squirting water on me, which I was getting annoyed with. I didnt bring my camera inside cause I didnt think we could take pictures, but we could as long as it wasnt a digital camera. Oh well. There was only one time I really wanted to take a picture, and thats when Mike and Brandon were doing Mexico. It was so beautiful. I was so shocked at how many people knew the new songs. It was like a fucking sing along the whole time. It was crazy. They played Vitamin, New Skin, Summer Romance, Nebula, and Favorite Things. They also played Pardon Me, Stellar, Nice to Know You, The Warmth, Nowhere Fast, Drive, Warning, Wish You Were Here, and Make Yourself. I want to say that they played When it Comes but honestly, I cant remember. What sucked was that they went off the stage at 10:15 and didnt come back to do an encore. During the set, Brandon kept walking off stage a lot. I wonder if he wasnt feeling well. SO the show wasnt as spectacular as I wouldve liked it to be. I left feeling unsatisfied. I wanted to hear more songs. But the songs they did play were amazing, especially the ones from S.C.I.E.N.C.E. After the show we went to the gas station to get something to drink, and then waited for awhile at the back for some of the guys to come out. But only Mike came out, and that was about 12, and Melina wanted to go, so we left. All and all, it was a good show, but I dont think Ill be seeing them anytime soon, especially not with Melina. I need my good old metal music back. I think Ill take a break from Incubus. But Im happy that they played the Publix song. | ||||||
