| Melina picked me up at the station and we went to Claires and Chick-fil-a. Waited at her house until Cory and Josh came. When they did we drove up to Charlotte for the show. It took about 3 and a half hours to get there, but it went by pretty fast because we were excited to see Glassjaw. We got there around 7 and were shocked to see this long ass line wrapped around the building! There weren't even that many people there for poison the well, so that was very weird to us. So anyway, we stood in this long ass line for a long time. There were tons of people in front of us and we were afraid that the show might sell out before we got to the door. While standing in line, we ended up standing near the rear of Glassjaws tour bus. But thankfully we made it inside and saw some of Piebald's set. They were alright. Next was Glassjaw and we got as close up to the front as we could. While we were waiting for them to start, I saw Kendra, who was with Jeremy at the Fort Mill Deftones show two years ago. She looked really different. She seemed a lot shorter, and her hair was a different color. I couldn't believe it was really her. Glassjaw soon came out and the place went nuts. We were on Todd's side (the right side) and I was surprised to see him wearing a Michael Jackson Thriller shirt. I was planning on wearing my thriller shirt but i didn't which kinda sucked cause that would've made a fucking priceless picture. Anyway, Glassjaw were amazing. They opened with Tip Your Bartender, and also played When One Eight Becomes Two Zeros, Ape Dos Mil, Pretty Lush, Siberian Kiss, Piano, Motel of the White Locust, Must've Run All Day, Cosmopolitan Bloodloss, and Two Tabs of Mescaline. Someone made a flyer that said, "Boycott Road Runner," and gave it to Daryl. Daryl said, "No no, don't Boycott Road Runner, because there are some really hard working bands on that label." He then went on to say that we shouldn't buy any Glassjaw stuff from RR. I thought that was great that he made that clarification. Even though they have beef with RR, doesn't mean that we shouldnt support the good bands that are on that label. Their set was really awesome, chalked full of energy. Daryl kept apologizing for not jumping up and down on stage, but he said he didn't have enough room. After Glassjaw's set, we went outside, because we were hot as hell. We got something to drink at a nearby gas station, and then went back to the venue. Hanging around outside we saw some members of Glassjaw around. Daryl was alone for a sec before people started talking to him. I saw Todd and talked to him for a bit. I told him that we drove from Atlanta, and asked him if they could play Majour or Ry Rys Song at the next nights show. He said that they couldnt play Majour, but that he would talk to the guys about Ry Rys Song. I asked for a picture and he was more than happy to take one with me. Hes such a sweet boy. Then Cory and I talked to Dave, their new bass player, and he was really talkative and nice. I asked him about the Warped Tour dates that they were supposed to play, and he said that they could only afford to play the first two and a half weeks which blows because warped here is on the first of August. Oh well. Then all the gj boys had to leave so we went back inside and saw some of Juliana Theory, who were ok I guess. After the show, we got in the car and headed home. | ||||||
