| Melina and I were really excited for this show. When I found out that Chimaira was playing here, I emailed Mark, very excited telling him how much I couldnt wait to see them. He emailed me back saying that he couldnt wait to play again, and that hed take care of Melina and I and put us on the guestlist. We left school around 2 because we had to drive to Stockbridge to pick up Jeremy and his cousin. Then we made our way to the Masquerade. We parked in the parking lot next to the Masquerade. If you get there really early you dont have to pay for parking. Jeremy and his cousin took off and went inside. Melina and I decided to walk to Kroger to use the bathroom and what not. While in there, I saw Nicole from the 10th season of the Real World. It was really weird because you just dont expect to see people you watch on TV at Kroger. I wanted to go up to her and say hello, but Melina wouldnt let me. After we finished using the bathroom, we were walking out of the parking lot when we saw Janelle pull in. We told her that she could park in the lot next to the venue, so we hopped in her car and she drove us back to the Masquerade. We got out of the car, and saw that there was already a line of kids there. Our little group went over by the buses, and just hung out there and chilled before the show. We saw a lot of the guys from Chimaira. Jim saw us, and actually came over to talk to Melina and I. I dont think he knows our names, but thats ok. Then Mark came over to talk to us, and told us that we were all set for the guestlist. Yet Melina was still a little worried that something would go wrong. When they opened the doors, we were at the booth waiting to get in. But the lady didnt have the guestlist yet. Just at the moment Mark was walking by, so Melina ran over to him, and told him that we werent on the guestlist. So he walked on over to the booth and said, Well they have to have it, youre the only ones on there. He got on his phone and was about to call his manager, but then he walked up, and handed the lady the list. So we got in. But by that time, people with tickets had gotten in before us, so we werent in the very front like we wanted to be. We tried to convince some boys to let us up front for Chimaira, but they said no. Bastards. Chimaira went on first and my word they were incredible! They played awesome, and the crowd was so into them, which I was SOOO happy about. Because nothing sucks more than when a band you love in playing and no one else seems to be into them. They played Painting the White to Gray, Severed, Forced Life, Let Go, Dead Inside, SP Lit, Lumps, and Silence. Mark was just going off, they all were and it was so incredible. Melina and I got so squashed though. Some dumb ass crowd surfer got on the stage, and tried to jump back into the crowd, over Melina and I. But we just moved out of the way and he fell. But on his way down, he swiped by arm, and thats when my watch fell off. Now I felt something under my feet afterwards, but I didnt know what it was. And it wasnt until later that I realized that I didnt have my watch. But there was no way I could go back and get it so, oh well. I actually had to take off my glasses during Chimairas set because it was getting pretty hostile in there, and I didnt want them to break. When they were done, everyone thought they were amazing. It was fun. We went to the back and hung with Janelle and Chris from Leftfield and Paul. I actually saw P.J. from school, so I went up to him and said hi. He was all excited because he ran into Dino from Fear Factory. Big whoop. Mark came out and talked to Melina and I. He loves us! We took a picture with him, and so did Janelle, who got in free too because she knew Matts (Chimaira) girlfriend and he got her on the guestlist. Machine Head played next. I dont see whats so special about them. I dont really like them at all. The only cool thing about them is that Rob Flynn, the lead singer, had on a Cure shirt, and they played a little of Roots, Bloody Roots by Sepultura. We stayed to watch a little of Fear Factory. I wasnt really paying attention to them, because I was so tired and really hungry. As a matter of fact, I felt weak because I hadnt eaten anything since lunch, and so I had to sit down to keep from wanting to faint. We left like half way though Fear Factorys set. When we were outside, we saw Mark heading back into the building. So I called him over and told him that we were leaving. He thanked us for coming and gave us hugs. He also said, Ill see you guys at Slayer. They were going to play a show with Slayer about a week and a half later. Melina and I knew this, and we wanted to go, but didnt know if we could afford it. But then Mark said, Oh and dont worry about the next show, Ill take care of you guys meaning that hed put us on the guestlist. Mark is just the bestest! I dont know why hes so nice to Melina and I. Were just normal regular girls. Maybe thats why. Its cool that he thinks so highly of us. We couldnt wait for Slayer. | ||||||
