| Taproot, Project 86, & Pulse Ultra: October 28th, 2002- Eleven 50: Atlanta, GA | ||||||
| Melina and I went to Eleven 50 to see Taproot. Its in downtown ATL BUT its in this weird building. I guess it was 18+ or 21+ cause they guy at the bottom of the stairs was checking IDs. He looked at mine for like a minute and then said "Barely legal." Yes jackass. I know i just turned 21. sue me. So melina and I went inside and Pulse Ultra was already playing. This place was SOO posh looking. It had all these litle booths on the side with fancy looking cushiony seats and there were all of these big bulky dudes standing around in suits. I guess they were bouncers or something. I dunno. They were all standing in their various places like posed and looking around the room like they were FBI agents or something. it was weird. The inside also reminded me a lot of the tabernacle but nicer. It didn't even look like a place for that kind of show. It looked more like a freakin dance club or something. Anywho, after Pulse Ultra was Project 86. They were pretty good. A lot of kids seemed to like them so that was cool. Melina and I went down to the floor for Taproot. I didn't stay up front for their whole set, but for most of it. I just near that this big Dicky Barrett looking motherfucker who was crowd surfer was gonna land on me and break my neck. If you're a really HUGE guy, you probably shouldn't be crowd surfing, because no one is gonna want to hold you up. He actually got dropped onto the ground at one point. and the sound of his body hitting the floor was so fucking loud. we all turned around to the center of the floor and "that had to hurt" looks on our faces. Serves him right though. So Taproot were pretty good. Stephen cut his hair. I don't like it that short. haha. Like my opinion matters. Mike was looking extra emo, with his blue shirt over a long sleeved white shirt, and red tie. Stephen of course went out into the crowd when they played "I" Now for some reason, he feels the need to get up on something high and jump off of it. I was really in no mood to watch him plummet to his demise last night. So when he got up on the balcony and looked liked he was gonna swing over the edge, i was thinking "What the hell is this boy doing?" It was a long way down. As he was making his way down, he like broke part of side of the balcony, and fell down behind this wall. Mike, Phil, and Jarrod were laughing cause it looked like Stephen was stuck behind this thing and couldn't get out. Someone actually had to reach down behind the wall and pull him out. It was pretty funny. The show ended at 11, which i thought was pretty early, so we were back in athens about 12:30. Good times. |
