| Well initially, I wasnt going to go to this show. But Melina didnt have anyone to go with. So I went. It was a lot of fun though, so Im happy that we went. Cory and his friend Josh were there too (Josh from the PTW show @ under the couch). The four of us actually went to this Mexican restaurant before the show. Its kinda funny because Cory, Josh and I were all wearing Chuck Taylor All Stars. We all had these huge ass burritos. They were really good though. Then we went to Borders to kill some time. We looked through magazines, which were full of Saves the Day stuff. Its weird because we saw a little sliver of information of Injected in I think it was AP magazine. Theyre a band from Atlanta and theyre friends with minus. When the show started, the first band to play was Mastadon. Theyre a local band. There were these metal dudes in the front really head banging to them. It was interesting. They were pretty good. They were just pure fucking metal. Good stuff. The next band to play was Shat. Wow, they were interesting. Never in my life have a been to a show where EVERYONE was watching the band on stage. Usually a few people are at the bar, or chatting it up with the people who are at merch, etc. But Shat was just so disturbing that everyone had to watch. The guitar player came out in a diaper and a mask and we thought, huh? and then the drummer came out and he was naked. He also had on a mask. Then the lead singer. He was wearing a bra, along with a helmet that had a long inflatable penis attached to it, and he also had a phallus attached to the front of his underwear. It was all very strange. Their first song was called, I fucked your Wizard. They were horrible. All of their songs were about something perverted or crass. The Songs talked about dingle berries, popping girls cherries, and a variety of other disturbing things. The lead singer gave a clock to someone in the audience, which was later thrown back at him. He said, Aww, whyd you throw it back? I spent a long time making that. Someone else shouted YOU SUCK! and the singer said, Well DUH! Thats the point. We were all more than happy when they left the stage. At one point the naked drummer even swang on the rafters. It was too much. The next band was All Else Failed. They were from up north somewhere. They were alright, but I couldnt hear the singer. We went up front for Darkest Hour and they were awesome. They had a lot of energy and everyone was really getting in to them. I loved on the guitar player was machine gunning everyone with his guitar. That was pretty cool. I didnt get hurt during their set which was a surprised to me. Someone tried to jump out into the crowd on top of me but I just moved. I got pushed over to the side but thats ok. I didnt want to risk getting fallen on. After their set, I went to the merch table and got this kick ass Darkest Hour shirt. It has their name on the front and on the back it says. To Live is to Thrash, To Thrash is to Live Wicked! I found Jeremy off to the right side of the stage by the railing so I went over to talk to him for a second. He LOVES Dillinger so I know that he was excited as all hell to see them play. Melina, Cory and Josh eventually all came over and we watched some Dillinger. Josh, Dru, and [Matt] were all right in the front going nuts. Ive never see [Matt] at a show just as a regular person watching a band. He was definitely having a GREAT time though. We didnt stay to watch all of Dillinger cause the trip back to school on 316 is always long and takes forever. So we told Jeremy and his friend Elizabeth goodbye and left. I really enjoyed the show. It was cool to finally hear Darkest Hour and Dillinger. | ||||||
