[minus]
Thursday August 2nd, 2001- The Cotton Club: Atlanta, GA
Yay! Another minus show! Hehe.  Actually this wasnt a minus show.  It was a part of the Atlantis Music Conferene which is an annual event where local unsigned bands play.  [minus] was the first band playing, going on at 8pm sharp so we had to make sure we got here on time.  Corey joined Melina and I for this show. We showed up at the Cotton Club way early. While we were parking we saw, Matt and Jordan walking down the street towards us with Akeem. I think they had just come back from the CNN center because they were eating food. Jordan looked into the car as we were parking, recognized Melina and I and waved.  We saw Jeremys car there, and were surprised that he was there so early.  He came up to us and we chatted with him for a bit before he went back to his group.  We had lots of time before the show, so we walked down around to CNN center.  While walking back this dude on a bench says to me, at least I think he was talking to me, Hey sweetheart, can you tell me how to get to your house?  Haha..we just laughed. Men will hit on anything with boobs, I swear.  We went inside the Cotton Club around 7:45. It was $8 at the door ( I LOVE local shows.  Theyre so cheap!)  While inside we noticed that there werent that many people there.  Most of the people there were in bands who were playing that night.  But it was ok, because having [minus] all to ourselves would be nice. But a few minutes before the show, the place had a few more people.  SO when [minus] took the stage, they had a nice group of kids up front. I was right up front, square in the middle. I didnt mean to  be so centered but whatever.  Some would consider that the best seat in the house.  They boys opneed with Enemy. They could only play for like 45 minutes so I wondered what songs they would play. They played three new songs.  When I say new I mean songs that arent on structure.  These would also be songs that I dont know the words too, which sucks, because I love singing along.  But the boys did play Fathers Eyes, At the Scene, Stranded, and Half Mile.  Because I was right down in front, Jordan was in my face tons which was cool and he had the mic in my face for  Fathers Eyes, so I was singing that into the mic which was really cool.  They ended with an acoustic verstion of Everything, which for those of you who are musically challenged meant that Jordan  sang while Dusty played guitar.  It sounded really beautiful.  I think it would do well as a hidden track or a B side on their next album ?  After [minus]s set, we had no reason to stay really so we left. We picked up a new issue of Leftfield, and told Jeremy, Bye.  He said, You paid how much to get in here and youre already leaving? Well we had only come to see [minus] and really werent up to see the other 6 bands that were gonna play.  Seeing [minus] alone was totally worth all of my $8.  But the best thing is that I was home by 9:15
