| This was a nice quiet sit down show that I went to with Stephanie, the first show I went to in 99. We were mostly going to see Alanis Morissette but I was interested in seeing Liz Phair too. Stephanie had this thing about looking nice for shows at the Fox, so we got a little dressed up. She had on a really cool black dress that was about knee high, with little flowers on it. She also wore her 20 eye Docs. I had on a shirt with my green sweater over it, tights and my chunky black boots. I also had a black skirt with lace at the bottom. The funny thing is that Stephanies mom offered to iron it for me. I said sure. But she had the iron up too high and accidentally burned it! She felt so bad. This really wasnt a big deal because Stephanie had a skirt almost identical to mine, so I wore hers. But Ms. Bryan felt so badly and insisted on giving me money to buy another one. I remember that she gave me $20 even though the skirt was only $10. She told me that sometimes if you cant get something at the same store, you may have to pay a little more for it somewhere else. I found a replacement skirt at the store where I had gotten the first one and it was the same price so I was up $10 which was pretty cool ? Anyway, we got to the Fox around 7:30 I guess. Our seats were up in the balcony. Liz Phair went on first and even though I didnt know any of her songs, I enjoyed her set. She did play this song called Flower though, that my friends and I got a kick out of listening to because the lyrics were pretty naughty. Hehe. After Liz came Alanis and she was great! Shes an amazing live performer. She played all the songs we wanted to hear from here like Ironic, Head over Feet, Right Through You, Not the Doctor, You Oughta Know and several others. The new stuff from her second album sounded great, too. Shes very lively when she performs, which is great because it sucks when musicians just stand there and dont do anything. Thats not interesting at all. Anyway, this was a fun show and I was happy that I got to see Alanis. | |||||
