| Melina and I got to 9 Lives around 8 or so. I had never been inside 9 Lives so I was kinda excited. Because it's a bar, it's usually 21 and up. But when they have shows its 18 and up We showed the nice biker looking man at the door our IDs and paid. This was supposed to be a big night for the boys in minus. Matt had told Dru who told Jeremy who told Melina and I that the one and only Ross Robinson would be there that night checking out the guys' set. Ross Robinson has produced records for Slipknot, Deftones, Limp Bizkit, Korn, and Soulfly among many others. So it was a pretty big deal that he was coming to Atlanta to see [minus]. Melina and I searched the room looking for him, but didn't see anyone who could've been him. We walked up near the stage and stood around for the bit. Josh then walked up next to us and was just standing around. I introduced myself and he said hi, and we chatted for a bit. We said how weird it felt that Jeremy wasn't there, and indeed it did. When [minus] was ready to start, Melina and I went way up close to the stage. We were right in front of Dusty. Melina was on my left which was great, because she was gonna guard me from any unwanted pushing, shoving and what not from the crazy mofos in the pit. At the first sound of the guitar, the pit went off. Now, there weren't tons of people there, but I guess enough to make a pit in a small area. And let's face it. If the Fold boys are there, they're gonna mosh. And they did, Dru, and Josh were just going nuts, Cole was a little too. I got pushed a bit, but not too bad. Melina took most of the brunts I think. Hehe. During one song, Matt busted right the fuck through his snare drum. They had to get an on the spot replacement from one of the guys in another band that was also playing that night. Matt put on the snare and the show went on. They played a nice little set and I really enjoyed it. Jordan even went out into the pit to mosh around during Anti-vanity. After they played, we stood around for a bit looking for Ross. We saw three guys that we thought looked like him, but we didn't know which one was him. After Melina traded her skipped CD for another one, we started to leave. When we walked outside the door to go to the car we saw the Fold crew standing outside of Little 5 Pizza. The Fold crew is Cole, Dru, Jfold,and Rachel. Anyway, Melina and I talked to the Fold boys for a little bit before leaving. The next day, we found out that Ross Robinson wasn't at the show! All that looking around for him and he wasn�t even there! It turned out that he couldn't make it because he was stuck in the studio recording Slipknot's new album. Oh well. There's always some other time. Melina and I will surely keep and eye out for him. | ||||||
