| So last night was 30 seconds to mars, and my word the most random stuff happened. Melina and I got there a bit after 6, because we thought that doors opened at 7. But doors really opened at 8. No biggie. The show was a 99x two tickets for $5 thing which made our wallets happy. When we walked up to the entrance though, there were maybe only 8 or 9 other people there. Back at the cotton club it started to rain, so Melina and I went underneath the little covered area by the door. Chris showed up a little later, and he told us that the lead singer of Drowning Pool had died. Guess he was hitting the bottle a bit too much. The funniest thing that happened while we were waiting to get in though was when we met this girl named Liz. She had all this promo stuff for 30 seconds to mars because she was on the immortal street team. So she's passing out stuff, and then decides that she wants to talk to Melina and I. She tells us that she graduated from Pope last year, so I asked if she knew [matt] and she said yeah, and that [minus] used to play at their school a lot. Then she said something about how she was surprised that 30STM had such a big bus because they were a new band just starting out. Then Melina said, "well they probably have that bus because of who the lead siger is." Then Liz was like, "oh yeah?Who is he?" and Melina and i kinda just looked at each other like, "She doesn't know who he is?" So I said, "Jared Leto." and Liz says, "who's that?" haha. So I start naming all this stuff he's been in, and she doesn't know any of it, until I mention Girl Interrupted. And then Liz says, "oh my god! That's him? He was so hot in the movie." haha. THEN she understood what the big deal was about. Then Jared walked out of the venue after sound check, and a bunch of girls started screaming and laughing and giggling, and I felt like i was at n'sync minus the signs. So doors opened at 8, and we got to the front of course. While waiting there, Amy came up and said hi for a quick second than ran away. the first band to play was called the exies. they were alright. They went on at 9 and only played for 30 minutes so that was good. Then while we were waiting for 30STM, this girl comes up behind us with this drink in her hand and she's being loud so i'm thinking she's one of those annoying drunk people. then she said something about Andre from Outkast, and I'm like huh? So we turn around, and fucking Andre is standing right behind us. That was SOOO weird. It didn't take long for word to spread that he was there, so some people came over for pictures and autographs. I told him that i had all their albums and saw them when they played at school last year, and he told me thanks and shook my hand. Apparently this show was like an industry show for labels to check out the band and stuff. it was weird. So 30STM finally hit the stage and the room exploded. Jared Leto should've been doing this a long time ago. He has such a great voice. Shannon had this huge ass drum set which I can only liken to Tommy Lee's. I took lots of pictures of Jared. He looked absolutely gorgeous of course. They played the Mission, Capricorn, Buddha for Mary, Edge of the Earth, Echelon, Fallen, and some other stuff that I can't remember right now. Haha. I was the only one down in front singing most of the words. I'm a nerd. After their set, . Melina and I went outside where people were surrounding Andre, so i got chris to take a picture of me and him. Cause how often do u run into Andre 3000? NEVER. good times. It was definitely a fun night. And although it was really cool seeing Jared Leto in person, I'd have to say that seeing Andre was just a little bit cooler. |
