The Clap   7
Phlegms  8

Attendance: Everyone came! Yay!

A pre-game meeting set the tone for some skilled play. The Clap has a similar record to the Phlegms, yet they beat us soundly during our last match. Subbing for Clapper Cory (the quick, diminuitive fellow who underwent shoulder surgery recently) was Ed (in red), a competitive player whose very presence could have proved fatal to our well-meaning light-green team.

A good vibe was achieved after we scored the first point. You may recall that the Clap scored about five points on us before we scored on them last time! Within a short period, we had a good margin, leading 5-3 at about 9:50.

Some interesting moments occured when a disc was pulled onto the upstairs running track, and when Marty gave the disc a beautiful boot downfield after we lost possession on a turnover. Marty! Pete stood down a fast-count with Brandon and got a few extra seconds out of it. Otherwise it was a foul-less game.

The mood turned tense as the Clap rallied and eventually led us by a point near the end of the game. Perhaps it was fatigue on our part, or renewed energy on theirs, but the Clap had a good run after an especially long point that went in their favour. Danny pointed out that after a series of abortive attempts in our crowded ecstasy zone, the disc eventually moved the other way. This turning point was the start of a thankfully short-lived choke which we were rather fortunate to have recovered from.

Hats off to the Clap for letting us play to a tying point and then allowing us to win by having a sloppy point get by. Brandon, Carla, Ed, Paul, and everyone else...you were so close!

There was no cheer as the field house was evacuated for the night.

One, two, three, four...is that not fast? Pete calls a fast count on Brandon, Clap's captain.
