Hello 23
Welcome to the second half of the safari through the inhabitants of Chateau Heal
![]() Firstly we pass the reptile enclosure where you will find Bruce ![]() Rumour has it that Bruce is actually a Brucette but once a three year old had named it Bruce kind of stuck. He/ she appeared two valentines days ago.. "You know for valentines dear? Err yes? Well instead of a box of chocolates can you buy me a tortoise? If you order it now you will have a week to build the vivarium." The terms rock and hard place sprung to mind. So you will notice the wonderfully crafted vivarium I built sitting in the picture instead of a box of soft centres. Next we move to the small animal section located on the dressing table in daughters bedroom. Here we find Rosie the guinea pig. ![]() Next to Rosie you will see Chaf ![]() A name like this also arises if you ask a 3 year old what he wants to call his pet. (Tasha's got a guinea pig can I have one pleeeese Dad can I Dad Dad can I DAD??) He actually wanted to call it "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and no we couldn't just call it Charlie we had to shorten the whole phrase to Chaf, luckily a three year old can't spell that well or we would be calling it "Catcf". Lastly we arrive at the aviary. Home to George the cockatiel ![]() Now apparently these birds can be taught to talk a la parrot. Not this one unfortunately. He manages to wake the entire street at daybreak with a really tooth grinding squalk and can whistle louder than a builder watching a female from his scaffolding. This is also another extremely messy pet, bird seed and feathers can travel remarkable distances in very short periods of time. Within a day you can have a mix of all sorts on the stairs carpets... So there you have it. Our pets. The ironic thing is we live in a little town called Dudley, famous for very little other than it's Zoo. If we didn't have all these pets the money we spend on food etc. would pay for the entire family to go once a week and there would be no mess to clean up afterwards, no chewed doorframes to replace, no yellow patches on the lawn, no hay in the carpets..... 2006-05-14 20:05:32 GMT
