Hello 18
Last week a good friend of mine turned up with a couple of chairs for me, brand new and boxed, for use in front of the computer in the dining room. I have learnt not to ask where these sort of things come from but they were in payment for a computer repair I did for him a couple of weeks back. This means of course that we now have two old chairs surplus to requirements. Normally unwanted items would find their way to the tip via the shed and two years later after much deliberation finally end up in the loft or very occasionally actually at the tip. After surveying possible storage points for said chairs and realising that the shed is full of absolutely essential items like car parts for vehicles I sold 15 years ago, paint tins containing a couple of brushfulls of "Hint of Nicotine" , plumbing fittings (only used once), vast amounts of timber (way too good to burn) and such like I decided to take the bull by the horns and just load the chairs in the motor for immediate disposal. I couldn't do it. One of the chairs, picked at and ripped to shreds by one of the kids (little fingers can't seem to resist the lure of a slight blemish in the fabric revealing that inviting foam layer underneath) happened to be a massage chair with lots of vibrating units and heat pads built in. So I have HAD to remove all this gadgetry before disposal because it is BOUND to come in handy in the near future. Hmm... must build another extension on the shed this year. 2006-04-23 14:24:00 GMT
