His first guitar was a classical guitar, He started having lessons by a well known guitarist in the area called Andrew Osbourne, who showed him the art of the classical guitar.
A short time after, Randy bought his first electric guitar where he applied his classical skills too, and mixed it with rock, blues and Carlos Santana's Afro cuban music.
Six years into Randy's playing, Randy moved to Lowestoft (also the home of The Darkness) in 1998 where he met local boy Gavin Leister. Gavin Leister was born in 1985 and became his best friend, he slept over and jamed with Randy many times. Gavin was into Hank Marvin and The Shadows which was ok but Randy didn't feel it and felt unchallenged.
Later on Gavin introduced Randy to one of his mates called Dave a youngster aged 13.
Dave was impressed with Randy's playing and at times Randy would laugh at Dave's musical efforts and show off with Gavin, which may have boosted Dave's determination to play.
Tragically some years later Gavin drifted away from Randy untill Gavin stopped contact. Andrew felt betrayed, used and fell into a slight depression which also made him gain weight. Randy decided to move back to his hometown in Bury St Edmunds, Luckily though Dave decided to keep in contact with Randy and txt him when he could. From then on Dave and Randy's Frienship became stronger and they met up when they could to Jam and chill out.
Randy is well known in east anglia as a soloist doing shows for people and is back in shape loosing 6 stone!.
